“Another Fun Malaysian Market!”
Reviewed 10 April 2012

This market is lots of fun.It starts outside the Golden Sands Hotel and extends to around the Hard Rock Hotel.Things start to warm up at about 7.00 PM when the first batch of stalls start to open and then the rest are all open by about 8.00 PM.
The market itself sells alot of bags,t-shirts,dvd's,cd's,make up and various trinkets and souvenirs.
Bargaining is the order of the day and you can do very well if you are courteous and patient. My wife and I stayed in Batu Ferringhi for a while so we adopted the strategy of going quite a few nights and bargaining further down with each visit until we got the price for the goods we wanted to buy.If you have ever been to Petaling Street in KL then this is like a long version of that but without the shoes. This is a place where you can stroll through and have lots of fun after dinner if you are in the area.

“A different side of Malaysia”
Reviewed 24 March 2012

Imagine the street markets of Bangkok, Pattaya, Bali and Manilla, all rolled into one and deposited in, of all places, Malaysia. There is nothing else in the country quite like it.

This is the Night Market. Endless garish stalls, largely selling goods of doubtful authenticity. There is certainly a holiday buzz about the strip and non of the sells could be called hard. Local families mix with tourists from Australia, Europe and the Middle East. The atmosphere is convivial. The food is plentiful on the other side of the road.

Is it typical Malaysia? No! Is it fun? Maybe the first once or twice. Does it keep the tourists happy? Probably yes. Is it cheap and nasty? You decide.

“A must place to visit for shopping and "spending" your money!”
Reviewed 22 March 2012

Batu Ferringhi Night Market is situated in the heart of the small Batu Ferringhi town surrounded by resorts such as Parkroayl Resort. It spreads for couple of miles. Anything and everything is found in here from fake to brand hand bags, cloths, souvenirs, food stalls, bars, latest copied movies, massage, tailors, fish-spa, restaurants and more…and are cheap! Don’t forget to at least to visit “Long Beach Café” once. It is very cheap and plenty of hawker style food are offered with beer. Very cheap! And of course not to mention “BBQ Nights” Malaysian Indian restaurant. Delicious!! And try some Sheesha after dinner. Perfect!

“Entertaining, great personalities ... heaps of fun”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

Stayed in Batu Ferringhi for a few nights this month with a friend. The night markets were a real laugh. Great personalities and just plain good fun. There isn't a huge range and a lot of stalls selling the same gear. But, don't take it seriously, have some fun and get to know the great people and have a good time!
Make sure you stop by the stall that sells kids thongs and sandals, the guy that runs it is fantastic, genuine and a "good guy'!!

“Less choice and more stalls - but still a "must see, must do"!”
Reviewed 29 January 2012

The quality of the goods has certainly dropped and there are no more trainers or electrical goods (except for some stylish digital clocks and mobile accessories).

The value is still quite good but limited choices for men. Cd's and DVD's are still great value but watch out for police, the shutters come down quick of the appear. Expect to pay 4Rm ea for them. Polo's and t-shirts are between 15-20 with some haggling and tonight I'm going to see how I go with the watches. If anyone can recommend who to deal with on the better quality ones I'd love to hear from you.

One thing's for sure, it's great fun and should be one everyone's list of things to do. Enjoy!
