We spent three nights here and I could have stayed for much longer. The gardens with their tranquil atmosphere are totally relaxing and coupled with Jeanne's artistic flair are a real haven of peace and tranquillity. The rooms are attractively enhanced with Jeanne's amazing pieces of art and are comfortable, clean and well equipped. The sleep quality is perfect. Jeanne has thought of everything but is still conscientious in checking regularly that all is satisfactory for her guests. Breakfast served outside overlooking the pool, gardens and mountains was memorable. Arab horses graze quietly in the fields nearby, while little sunbirds sip nectar from the trees' blossoms around the garden.

My husband and I spent 2 glorious nights with another couple at Assvoelkrans and can't stop telling our friends how much we enjoyed it. Every which way your turn there is a piece of art or fresh flowers or Coco, the Rhodesian Ridgeback or the twin lambs born just before breakfast.
Jeanne was a wonderful host and really knew the area and what to do with our day.
Cant wait to go back again.

Room tip: We hired the Guest House with self catering

We have stayed at this B & B before. It is run by Jeanne who is an artist as well as a proprietor. The rooms are sufficient but very minimal. The gardens are immaculate we loads of garden statues and objects scattered about. Each breakfast is presented differently each day with individual fruit and fruit salads being offered and is very acceptable. Once you get used to Jeanne's ways and settle in it is very relaxing and once you get talking to Jeanne she "comes out of her shell". There are Arabian horse in the fields which are bred by Jeanne. All in all a very laid back stay which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will return.

Jeanne's B&B is an amazing place. We had a wonderful time in her beautifully decorated room. Its very private and set in beautiful gardens. Everywhere you look you see something interesting. Jeanne is an artist and that shows. The bed is comfy and the linnen very beautiful. Fresh flowers everywhere. The breakfast is yummy with fresh flowers on the table. Thank so much Jeanne for the wonderful time.

This is an absolute gem. We have stayed here three times now and would not think of travelling to South Africa without returning. Jeanne is so welcoming and accommodating. You stay in one of the cottages in a beautiful garden at the foot of the mountains, absolute bliss. The furnishings in each cottage always contain Jeanne's own work, such as paintings or needlework. Jeanne's personal touch is felt throughout. Breakfast is always fabulous, served in the garden or in the main house, where you will see Jeanne's fabulous hand- made quilts. With the sun shining, you will be hard pushed to find anywhere better to stay.
Locally you can eat well and you must not miss the famous tractor trip at Protea Farm. Visit the Montagu co- operative to buy local grown and dried fruit and nuts.

Room tip: All cottages are great, we have been in three of the cottages and they are all beautiful
