We just stopped by for the homemade cheese cake and a coffee. Both was good and served with a smile.

On my annual pilgrimage from the UK to visit my Mother we took a drive to Montagu. After driving up and down the High Street, we settled on the Mystic Tin as it looked interesting and inviting. Glad we did, as we were cordially greeted as we walked through the door and shown to a table.
The menu for a small establishment was surprisingly comprehensive offering choices to suit a variety of tastes.
I opted for the Impala fillet off the specials board. The portion was substantial, the fillet excellent and cooked exactly as ordered, rare. The accompanying vegetables were tasty and not overcooked and I really liked the addition of the skin on roasted half onion. My only suggestion would be that it be served with the red wine jus available on the calves liver, as the pepper sauce although very tasty was quite strong against the delicate flavour of the meat.
Service from our waitress was professional, quick and friendly. Prices at reasonable and offer good value for money.
Would definitely call again if in the area on a future trip

The Mystic Tin is one of the rare places where you can find local beers and the food is very good. Nice to eat outin front and watch the passers by on Bath Street or sit out in the back garden.

An early supper in a garden setting right next door to where we were staying. Pleasant service and acceptable food, much more than we had expected. Worth a try.

This place was recommended by our host and we were lucky to get a table without a dinner reservation. The atmosphere is fantastic and at night it is cosy and warm inside. We ordered lamb chops and my husband ordered the chicken curry. The lamb chops were grilled to perfection and were extremely tasty. The vegetables served were tasty and I loved the soft baked onion halve on the plate. My husband could not get enough of the baked butternut on my plate! The chicken curry get top reviews and it was a tasty curry and not bland at all. Will recommend this place!
