Except that we stayed only one night, our experience was the same as Karen P's (April 21 review). We also greatly enjoyed Tepoztlán and the climb (with many stops to catch our breath) up Tepozteco. We would certainly stay at Amomoxtli again.

We went here for the weekend and were blown away by how beautiful and tranquil the location was. The grounds are lush and tropical, and the room and facilities are all great. We were lucky to have the place to ourselves, and the staff was amazingly attentive and friendly. The breakfasts are delicious, fresh, and home cooked. We also decided to eat here for dinner one night, and the chef prepared a wonderful meal for us based on regional cuisine. We would highly recommend Amomoxtli to anyone and hope to go back!

Very attentive friendly service. Best massage of my life. Wonderful mid-day yoga. They arranged epic parasailing trip for us. Food was great and outdoor dining was beautiful. The only problem with this place is you won't want to leave and see the sights.

Great place to relax if you are can stand inefficient service. The manager seems to think that a place that big can be ran with two people.

The food is good but it is not consistent. You order the same thing twice and it will be two different things.

If the service was better this property would be a must

This place is absolutely spectacular. The attention to detail and the staff here are truly five star service. The general manager (I forgot her name sadly) is always making sure that things are perfect. She is an incredible asset to this establishment.

The rooms are simple, yet beautiful appointed. No phones or TVs in the room to offer a very peaceful stay. There is also no central heat or air but fans and room heaters are provided. It's in a region/elevation that rarely gets hot enough to need AC.

For English only speakers, there are a couple of staff members around always who are fluent English speakers, so that isn't a problem.

The food is exquisite also. The chef uses locally sourced ingredients in traditional dishes served with an upscale/gourmet twist.

Keep in mind that while I gave this five stars it's not in the same way I give the Peninsula five stars. It is more rustic of an experience than modern upscale US hotels, but it is perfect in its own way, and as I said, the staff is incredible.

One last thing, I came here with a platonic friend of mine, but it would be an incredibly romantic get away. We both said we would like to come back with significant others.
