We went to Kintyre and it was shut. We managed to catch this place open, eventually, but for a while we wished we hadn't. We were told we couldn't have naan bread because the oven wasn't ready, and there was a general air of not having expected anyone to come in. Although we were almost the only customers, and had only one course, the food took around 50 minutes to arrive. When it came (with chunky chapatis instead of naan) it was good - but it's just too long to wait. God knows how they manage when they're busy.

Exceptionally friendly, lovely staff, must surely be best Curry west of Gibson Street.
Popular with locals who often frequent and can be relied upon to entertain those who dine late.

We had three courses each and the bill was just under sixty pounds, including (soft) drinks. The restaurant is not licensed. Service was attentive and the waiter was very helpful while we were choosing what to eat. The chef will cook dishes according to customers' tastes. (I cannot cope with hot food so chef left out the chillies in my selections. He also added chillies to my son's selections, as requested. My daughter is a vegan and had no difficulty finding suitable food. It is a small restaurant and seems to do a lot of takeaway food. I would definitely recommend The Tarbert Tandoori for a sit-down meal. Bathroom facilities are spotless. We will certainly be returning (especially as we had food left over which was boxed for us in order that we could take it home and not waste it.)

We booked this for 13 hungry cyclists and were not disappointed. The food was delicious, plentiful and great value, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Will definitely eat here again when back in Tarbert.
