We visited Belmonte to go to the Medieval fair and this was the perfect location. It is close but in a quiet location. The hotel is dated specially in terms of decoration however the room was a good size and clean. The walls looked like they might have been painted recently. It would be nice if they changed the drapes and bed covers. They should also change the TVs, they are still the very small chunky ones from way back when. It has been a while since I've been in a hotel that still has those Tvs. We requested a quiet room with a nice view and that is what we got, the last room in the corridor so we did not hear any noise and overlooking the countryside. We did not have a balcony but for a one night stay we did not really need one and the rooms with a balcony seemed to be facing the entrance of the hotel and the street. You get free outdoor parking and free wifi although the wifi did not always work very well. The room has air conditioning and the bathroom had a window so had plenty of light. We had to keep the bathroom door closed so that light would not flood the room in the morning. Blackout on the window was not all that effective but they never really are, even in better hotels. The hotel has an outdoor pool which is not very big but it was enough (small kids pool as well). It did get very busy with unruly kids after 5 pm but that is to be expected in August. Breakfast was also included. The breakfast room was a little small for the size of the hotel so it was quite crowded and as they were understaffed the only available tables where piled high with dirty dishes. We had to ask the waiter to clean a table for us which he did promptly. I was a little sorry for him as he seemed to be the only one there doing everything alone. The food was average but plenty and had all we wanted-fresh fruit, bread, ham and cheese, coffee, tea, cereal that sort of thing, nothing fancy but ok. Price was a little high for what you get but August is high season and this is a popular location. Belmonte has a lot to see and do and the fair was fun although crowded.

The hotel rooms and grounds were immaculate as were the gardens. Service was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was adequate in view of the room prices. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel because there were few other guests and we felt lost in the huge restaurant. The hotel is about 800 m from the centre of Belmonte but it is a very steep climb.

Stayed here for the third time and the standard never varies.Lovely rooms with a spectacular view and a great value for money restaurant.T he nearby town of Belmont is extremely interesting and this is a lovely area of Portugal. The hotel has a personal feel that is often missing in hotel chains.

Room Tip: View of the mountains

We stay at this hotel, it's a smal and old hotel.
We could ear all noise from all room nearby.
Our bathroom was ok but cold, the hot water was not so hot.
The breakfast was a two star, ok what can I say.
All staf were kind but they could do better by the price we payed.
If you are visiting other villages try to stay in better hotels and cheaper for some KM more.
Free WI-FI, no mini bar in the rooms, and na old tv screen... for a 3 stars...
Sheets thin and old fashioned...

We were here last year and on a recent trip to the area we again stayed here. As before the Hotel was a very pleasant stay. From our arrival and greeting from the owner to the excellent staff at dinner and breakfast we were made to feel very welcome . We were also given a free upgrade to a balcony room with views to the mountains of Serra De Estrella. Highly recommend this privately owned and family run Hotel . The food is typical and very good not like many hotels and excellent wines . When we are in the area we will God willing stay here again . Thank you Hotel Belsol .

Room Tip: Front rooms have views toward the Serra De Estrella mountains .
