top marks for bar and table staff, the views and the idea. Reception service arrogant, unhelpful, stiff, hard to accommodate any requests..with the standard reply " it is hotel rules..." . Pleasing the guests was not on, but following the rules because this is a different hotel....Never before in any of other 25 congresses we have organized had we so many complaints from guests, most about trivial matters that normnal common sense and flexibility would solve. This is a place highly reccommended by the Mayor and everyone else...It is luxury, in a special surrounding with right ammenities but.....we had a group of 40 people dining there of which 7 or 8 stayed there. Too many flies on the roooms, no second key for people on a T2. Lousy control of people dining (they should control it not us...), they did not know who was and who wasn't and when asked for names, gave us wrong names of absentees for those who were present...A lovely environment with a novel idea for the cabins, nice pool and private beach, top staff for bar and table.

This is a resort located in a magic place , near the Santa Barbara beach. Villas are well decorated in a rustic manner. Some maintenance is required but all in all experience is very relaxing. Breakfast should be improved as it lacks somehow variety. Sushi restaurant is very good and the view simply outstanding. Service is somehow slow in the restaurants. But our experience of a family vacation with three kids was wonderful and not really damaged by some aspects that can be improved. Highly recommended and ...will return next year.

The best food we had on Sao Miguel. We stayed on the island for a week. Tasteless all the way ... until the last evening when we dined at this nice spot overlooking the sea. What more -- the food was really tasty. The ambience really wonderful. The service was excellent. Truly enjoyed our last evening here!

A great place to recharge your batteries. On the beach, near the mountains, nice comfortable and romantic spacious rooms. The restaurant and the beach bar offer you a wide range of solutions, from a 5 star sushi menu prepared in front of you by the chef, to a succulent beef burger by the beach you are sure to find something to delight you.
Will definitely be back!

Room Tip: rooms with the beach view are the best!

Beach on your doorstep, fantastic pool and excellent food what more could you want. We shared a Blue/Green villa (definitely the best option in terms of layout and views, ask for the one at the end with by the sea), two familes with one child each. The girls slept in the lounge, the sofas were made up as beds, we arrived late on Saturday and this had all been prepared. The polished concrete and minimalised look was fabulous. he open plan bathrooms take a little getting used to but are very cool! We ate at the beach bar for lunch and evening meals most of the nights we were there, we never quite knew what would turn up when we ordered but it was always tasty! You definitely need to be quite laid back about service and plan to spend long leisurely lunches etc as nothing happens that quickly. Breakfast is buffet and very good indeed. The hotel restaurant was more expensive and not quite as good. Finally we were all celebrating a special birthday this year and the staff arranged a bottle of sparkling wine on our first night as a treat. A lovely touch.
