We decided to go to Time n Place when we were on a cruise to escape the 5000 passengers. We were not sure what to expect. We went to the pick up spot at the port and were happily greeted. Only 4 other people from the cruise were there. Since we were among the first to arrive and the guests were just waking up, we helped rake the seaweed on the beach. The place is very rustic. Tony built just about everything himself. We felt like we were just hanging out at a friend's beach cottage. It is not a place to go of you want the latest amenities or things to occupy you with besides the surf and the sand. Tony will make you the most delicious fresh pineapple daquaris and jerk chicken. He will chat with you and play dominos. This is a place to see what the Caribbean was like before the all inclusives and mega resorts took over. We did go to the cave. It was spectacular but I must warn, it is scary getting in. The hole in the ground is very small. But the mineral pool lit by candles is something that cannot be explained. There is a time to expect and demand luxury. And then there is a time to be one with nature and forget about all of the troubles that technology brings to our world. I don't think I could tune out for more than a few days. We plan to go back and stay for a long weekend to truly recharge. If you are adventurous and prefer authentic experiences and tranquility over created ambiance, give Time n Place a chance.
