“Excellent sea views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 May 2012

We booked a superior double/twin with balcony for 2 nights in April. The bedroom was of decent size, and bathroom also of a good size. Balcony just about the width of a chair, about 12 feet in length, where we could sit and watch the ferries from Sardinia.
Overall the service was good, and wifi not a problem.
The location is exceptional for the views over the sea, and the distant landscape to the north. The walk into the old town takes around 10 minutes, but the buildings between the hotel and the town are a bit run down, with a lot of derelict ex-military buildings. If you have a nervous dispostion then walking back from town in twilight or in darkness could be a bit unsettling.
Breakfast was not good value at 15 EUR each. When the breakfast omelette arrived it was clear it was from a frozen packet, and was only reasonbly usable as a sponge for washing the motorbike - in fact it contained so much water we probably wouldn't need a bucket either. The hotel should really remove this culinary disaster from their breakfast menu, but full marks to them for making the necessary adjustment to the bill when we gave them our feedback.
Given the expansive views and the good service and easy free parking, we would definately stay at this hotel again.

Bonifacio is a fascinating place but does have it's tourist rip-off restaurants.
But if you like the french cave / wine bar experience then I recommend you visit Comptoir Bonifacien in 9 rue St Jean Baptiste, We had a very tasty lunch with Corsican charcuterie and fromage, a nice selection of wine, and a warm welcome.

Set on the point overlooking the sea, the building won't be mistaken for great architecture, but it isn't exactly ugly either. The hotel itself, is set inland slightly, so you will see the parking lot before you see the ocean, but then again, it doesn't bill itself as a cliffside chateau which is commendable given the tendency for hotels to exaggerate their facilities and location these days.

The hotel itself is furnished in a playful, modern style and appears to have been recently renovated. There is a generous parking lot outside the front entrance with easy access to the hotel. No steps or other hindrances so you can use the roller bag the whole way in.

The view from our third floor room was beautiful. The room itself, was bright, clean and modern; well-sized, but not over-sized. There was plenty of room for us and our bags, and we definitely didn't feel cramped. Bathroom was generous and there was an automatic blind over the window that raised and lowered via the adjacent wall switches which was rather luxe providing a pleasant surprise.

I couldn't get wireless in the room, but the free access in the lobby was adequate. They also have a small bar adjacent to the lobby that is staffed by the receptionist. You may have to walk around the corner to let them know you'd like a drink, after which they're happy to serve you. Not an extensive selection, beer, wine, and sodas mostly, but it is fine for a quick drink while you're browsing the web in the lobby. Head into town for a more extensive drinking selection.

Breakfast was perfectly adequate for a hotel of this class. Standard euro hotel fare of breads, pastries, yogurt, etc. and the OJ was fresh. Nothing to complain about. The hostess was very pleasant and her bright smile was a genuine pleasure in the morning.

The hotel has some trails to wander the coast just outside as well as some "ruins" to explore at your leisure. For more activities, the main part of town is a short, but not unpleasant, 10 min walk away where you'll find all manner of restaurants, shops, and cafes to amuse you.

Kudos to this hotel for providing exactly what they should and doing it in a fine manner. Make no mistake, it is a 3-star hotel, exactly as they claim, and you will have perfect 3-star accommodations. I have to rate this property a 5 overall for meeting expectations, not over-selling themselves, and having a bright, clean rooms and common areas. No complaints! I would stay here again should I find myself in Bonifacio.

Lovely hotel very thoughtfully furnished and wonderfully clean and comfortable.
It's on a steep hill some distance from the town and its restaurants and bars, so not really suitable for anyone with walking difficulties as limited bar and don't think they do much catering except breakfast.
Reception was a tad unfriendly but overall a very positive experience.

Room Tip: Travelled as a group and everyone had a positive experience so don't think there are rooms to av...

After traveling from Ajaccio through the mountains, passing by Porto Vecchio, we finally got a taste of Bonifacio. As you get in to this little port town, the color of the water, the steep cliffs and the beauty of the old town will baffle you. Then you start climbing your way up the hill to reach the old town, pass though it and at the end of the cliff you have Santa Teresa Hotel.
With its 360 degree of Bonifacio and the surrounding Mediterranean sea, one will lose ones breath.... The hotel is nice and modern, and tastefully done. The staff is very nice and very helpful, and if you ask they will give you great suggestions and both touristic things, and the local secrets... Totally worth it! And I will go back, actually we are already planing to go back, Corsica has it all when it comes to beaches, mountains, lakes, adventure travels, wildlife, and FOOD AND WINE!

This part of Corsica is stunning beautiful so maybe, when the sun shines and there is a gentle breeze gusting the endless list of inadequacies of the hotel Santa Teresa may be overlooked.

But when it is teeming down with rain and the wind is blowing strong enough to knock you over what is not on offer becomes ever more important. Firstly these are not the friendliest staff you will have ever met at a hotel check in; secondly there was no alcohol available at the bar as the hotel was shutting down for the season on the Friday after we checked in on the Sunday, so none had been ordered; and thirdly there was no attachment bracket to hold my shower in the bathroom and the shower head kept falling off when I tried to use it by hand.

Then there was what, laughingly could be called a conservatory, which had large pools of water in it where the rain had either come through the roof or under the doorway. Breakfast is a mournful, self service affair comprising bread or croissant washed down with some truly ghastly orange juice served from a dispenser. Is it not possible for a Mediterranean island to provide freshly squeezed juice for its customers? Yes is the answer, but the management here simply cannot be bothered.

On the plus side my room was clean and I had a bath that provided sufficient hot water. Apart from that the accommodation was as basic as it gets and the service as indifferent. Finally high speed internet is meant to be provided but there are only two places on the ground floor of the hotel where it can be received.

Overall a memorable experience for all the wrong reasons.
