This hotel is so well done and well run. The decor is clean, modern and high end, the property tranquil and the surroundings natural and beautiful.

The service is excellent as well. The owner and her son are on hand to make sure everything is running smoothly and to give tips about where to visit in the area. The desk staff is very friendly.

The breakfast is delicious, with everything you could want, including French breads and pastries, as well as fruit and delilcious coffee.

There is a beautiful infinity pool in the main check in/restaurant area that overlooks Bonifacio--gorgeous. There is also an amazing infinity pool back near the rooms and it is so relaxing and blends in with nature.

I would stay here again and highly recommend it.

The rooms are really lovely and this hotel would make an excellent base for exploring southern corsica. Couldn’t fault the rooms - spacious, modern and bright with great beds and showers. The landscaping around the property is magnificent and the pool and views gorgeous. It is a long way outside Bonifacio and there is no restaurant at the hotel so you will have to (and should) go into town for dinner which means either driving or walking as there are no taxis to speak of. Some of our group did get a taxi back from town (organised through the restaurant) and it cost them E50 for the 2km ride (but it was Bastille day). We enjoyed the walk both days (20 mins to the port and lower town, much more if you want upper town) but there’s plenty of places in the lower town for dinner eg L’An faim or quatre vents. The walk is best suited to the slightly intrepid traveller - it is a rocky bush path and although the hotel staff advised against it we found it perfectly doable in the dark with iPhone torches and sensible shoes. Check in was slightly chaotic - leave your bags in the car when you arrive at reception because you’ll be driving to your room. If I had any criticisms it would be that the outside furniture was uncomfortable and ..as always it seems... no conditioner! I would return though as this is a lovely hotel and Bonifacio a spectacular setting. Beware the overpriced restaurants like La Caravelle catering to the rich yachties!

Dear Kookaburra58,

Thank you for sharing your impression on Tripadvisor.

We like to hear that you enjoyed our rooms based on a unique Indoor Outdoor concept; indeed, each suite can benefit from private patio and terrace surrounded by nature and sun light.

We appreciate your compliments about our domain. Cala di Greco is located on a 3 hectares domain with century olive trees and mediterranean plants. Bonifacio is at 5 minutes drive or 15 minutes walks from us (via maquis). According to us, it is a cheap price to pay in order to enjoy the view of the old citadelle and Sardeigna. Walking downtown by night via the maquis is easy and permitted, but due to the lack of light, and due to the fact that it is an old path, we rather see our clients ordering a taxi.

It is true that we don t have a restaurant at the hotel, and it is our choice. Cala di Greco is part of Bonifacio community, and this community offers a wide range of incredible tables. We believe that the best way to enjoy our corsican lifestyle is to discover these places. Please do not hesitate to come to us in order to receive advices, to book tables and even to organize a personal pick up.

In case you would like having dinner at your room, we have, out of the hotel, a snack menu with a choice of Corsican « charcuterie », cheese, Bonifacio eggplant style, beef carpaccio and a sélection of home made pastries . In addition, we can organize for you food delivery with one of our local partners.

Corsica is an old island with plenty of traditions and it is true that we don t have a lot of public transports and just a few taxis. That is why the best way, in order to enjoy your holidays with us, is to rent a car. As written with reason in your comment, you will have the chance to explore all our Southern Corsican treasures. From Cala di Greco you will be able to drive to sand beaches around cities like Porto Vecchio, Sartene, Propriano.

We are trully sorry to hear that the outside furniture did not satisfy you. For the conditionner, next time you are with us, please do not hesitate to let us know that you miss something in your room. We would have been more than happy to serve you. For your next visit in Cala di Greco, you will have it for sure as we work to taylormade and improve our level of services day after day.

We would like to thank you again for your nice review and we look forward seeing you again with us. We wish you a safe trip back to Australia.

Best regards.

The rooms at this hotel are more private villas than typical hotel rooms. They include a front gate, behind which there is a front courtyard and another courtyard at the rear with shade, seating and a low table. The more expensive rooms have a private plunge pool. The rooms are minimalist, well designed and comfortable.
There is a choice of 2 outdoor heated pools. One is close to the main pavilion and the hotel reception and has amazing views of nearby Bonifacio across the valley.
The staff are professional, courteous and knowledgeable. Their restaurant recommendations were all very good.
The hotel is 5 to 10 minutes drive from Bonifacio, which is busy and bustling during the high season. It’s good to be out of the fray but it is a lovely little holiday port town with many restaurant choices.
Cala Di Greco does not have a restaurant. Its food offerings are limited to a good buffet breakfast and a few snack-like dishes eg charcuterie and cheese plates. Similarly, if you like to have endless drinks and cocktails served to you while you lounge around the pool, this is not the place for you.
We really enjoyed the low key and tranquil ambiance of this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel in June with my husband, 11-year-old son, 12-year-old nephew, and some friends. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel.

Pros: The view. The view from the pool and patio area of Bonifacio is truly stunning. The pool is heated, and lovely. Some of the staff were very helpful with day trips and restaurant suggestions. One staff member spoke Italian so I could communicate with her, and she gave us perfect beach day suggestions. The room was clean and comfortable, although very small for four people. The deck off of the room was really nice. The room was quiet. The bathroom is small but modern and well-appointed.

Cons: The walk to town was further than we expected, so we used our car instead. No hair conditioner is provided in the rooms. The room was the smallest of our "family rooms" during our time in Corsica. The breakfast was average in my opinion - it was fine, nothing to really complain about, just not fantastic, and since the breakfast was not included with the room rate, it felt a bit disappointing. Very few staff members speak English. We did have trouble communicating with some of the staff about requests like boat trips and restaurant reservations. And we found the restaurant recommendations to be less than stellar, overall.

I would recommend this hotel for the view, the quiet setting, and the rooms - just be aware that if you are a family of four, it is a little bit tight, that very little English is spoken, and that you will need a car.
