So this is what coffee is supposed to taste like! Simply fantastic cappuccino graciously served by friendly staff on an upstairs balcony overlooking the cathedral.
A club sandwich was o.k. and the so-called American breakfast the next day was adequate but consistent with Nicaragua's customary practice of only serving white bread a la 1950s - no nutrition and otherwise mostly sugar and air. The downstairs is far less attractive but clean and functional.
