Friendly smiling people and a nice location with all the shady tables overlooking the busy Weligama beach. You don’t get the sunset here, but there’s a nice view of the island, locals playing cricket, etc.
I’m not a huge fan of kotthu, which usually has too much roti and not enough veg, but I tried it here and there was not only plenty of veg but, amazingly, of chicken too. I asked for it very spicy. Ten to fifteen minutes later, she set it in front of me with another smile and the words ‘very spicy’ and it was! This place isn’t much more expensive than the local hole-in-wall ‘hotel’ restaurants and, if you like this kind of fried rice/noodles/roti Sri Lankan evening food, you should find it just about ideal.
