Looking at the reviews through trip advisor helped a lot with us deciding if we should go to this place or not. We booked this resort in April 28, 2012 for just an overnight stay. We needed a place where we could sleep for the night as my husband and a friend is going to attend a wedding in Dagupan City. Since both families will be bringing our kids and our yayas, we decided to book 2 deluxe cabanas for the night.
We left Baguio at 8:30 am and arrived at Leisure coast at around 10:30 a.m. using the back roads and shortcuts of La Union and Pangasinan. As we arrived the place, we went to the reception area and asked if we could have an early check-in as we will be attending a wedding at 2 p.m. We were a bit worried because the town of Dagupan City was also celebrating their annual Bangus festival and major roads such as Perez Avenue and AB Fernandez might be closed. So we were expecting a long stop and go traffic to St. Therese Church along Rizal St. in Dagupan City. Unfortunately all rooms are still not vacant, so we decided to stay first and hangout at their front desk while we wait for people to check-out. Since it was nearing lunch, we decided to go and eat in their restaurant just behind their function hall. A wedding reception was also taking place so we our food orders came for and served for almost an hour. The hotel should have hired extra people at times like this. My husband was already upset because even our drinks were not even given to us yet.
The food was great. I loved their seafood paella. Apparently, this is a favorite takeout food in their Restaurant. For only 280 pesos, the seafood paella is already good for 4-5 people. There are boiled eggs, crab, longanisa, prawns and shrimps. There were 8 of us, and our friend also ordered 2 fish sinigangs and steamed rice. Their soup sinigang was also fantastic and tasted good.
At around 12:30 p.m., once finished eating lunch, we went back to the reception area to ask wether our cabanas are ready. They said that they are still cleaning the cabanas and that it will take a few minutes. It was already 1:10 p.m. and our cabanas were still not ready. Really worried that my husband and our friend won't make it to the wedding ceremony, i walked outside of the reception area and went and talked to the guard stationed at the entrance near the #1and #4 cabanas. Indeed, the maintenance people were still cleaning the cabanas, but the kind guard allowed us to park in the areas in front of the cabanas assigned to us.
What's great with this resort is that there are parking spaces available in front of your cabanas. At last at 1:20p.m. our rooms were already available, and as we entered, the cabana where we are in is quite big. It's good for 5-6 people. It has 2 queen size beds and a cabled tv. The bathroom is also huge with a bath tub.
The resort has a waterpark and guests are allowed to enter for free and enjoy the swimming pool from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight without charges. When you are staying at their cabanas, you are only given 2 free swimming stubs for free and others will be charged at 150 pesos (child/adult) each. As soon as we went back to the resort after the wedding reception, the swimming pool was already free from swimmers. We enjoyed the whole swimming pool just to ourselves.
By the way, their restaurant closes early, at 8:30 p.m. so after our night swimming, we had to drive all the way to CSI Mall in Lucao district to look for the nearest Jollibee. It seems that everything in this province closes really early. Even the CSI Mall Lucao closed at 8-8:30 p.m.
The roads leading to and from the resort are well maintained. It was really nice to look at the surrounding areas of Dagupan especially if you go through the Jose de Venecia highway (which is probably the newest diversion road in Dagupan City). Views are great. The ocean is seen and fish ponds are found on both sides of the road.
If you plan to go to this resort, you need to make sure you bring your own car. There are no taxis that will bring you to town. No worries about parking space, because this resort has a lot of it. I'm sure the whole family will enjoy the swimming and the bonding. Their zip lines have also been opened for those who are fearless in heights for only 500 pesos each. They have a kiddie pool, lazy river, a bigger swimming pool for adults and children, a wave pool, a slide, and a zip line.
Breakfast for 2 is complimentary once you stay in their cabanas. They have a wide range of choice for breakfast compared to some hotels/resort.
I am sure that we will be coming back to this resort. Next time, i will be trying their spa and massage services.
