For as little as $50, buck for buck, this must have the best hotel view in the world. The river, the mountains beyond, the sunrise and the sunset, the passing boats and the morning mist, for $50 a night, this is unbeatable!
The room was pretty basic, without a wardrobe to hang up your clothes, but with a fridge and a kettle. The wifi was very sketchy, but the breakfast, though basic, was varied and tasty.
The reception and service was very good and the ambience of the restaurant and bar was peaceful. The hotel is situated right in the middle of town and there are some lovely walks on the other side of the river.
This is a truly a value for money stay, which even the most snobbish of critics couldn't complain about.

Room Tip: Any with a view of the river.

Breakfast is very bad, stay for 2 nights with pretty much serving same menu, no meat at all (vegetarian). Food left empty, waiter didn’t fill up. Stir fried noodles is salty. All rooms has the Riverview, I supposed. Receptions seem overcharged for a day trip and van back to Vientiane, I would recommend to book outside.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and we’re sorry you didn’t enjoy the breakfast. We try to provide a wide variety of options at our buffet, and we will speak to our staff about ensuring that all the dishes are kept full.

a large hotel right on the water with river view rooms and a riverside restaurant where you can eat above the noise of the river boats as they go back and forth the rooms are a bit dated and the bathroom had a funky smell but overall I give it top marks for the staff the food and the location

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor. We're glad that you enjoyed the views from our restaurant; there's nothing better than watching the boats go back and forth for a few hours around sunset. We appreciate your feedback and will be using it to improve the hotel experience for future customers.

Worth staying here for the views alone. Location is excellent, close to many good bars and restaurants. Breakfast on yhe deck is very nice but we arrived at a busy time one morning and it took staff some time to replenish items. Rooms are fairly small and dated but the views from our balcony were spectacular. Reception staff very helpful when organising tours or transport.

I ate here twice during my time in Vang Vieng. It is the cheaper 'sister' hotel of the Silver Naga Hotel.

I ordered:
Sundried beef - like fried hot (temperature) jerky. Not what I was expecting but surprisingly delicious.
Steamed vegetables and salsa. Salsa was good, but it would be better if vegetables were fresh rather than steamed. Also, they don't provide a knife, so makes the dipping slightly awkward long Bok Choy type vegetables.
Chicken Laab - at 35,000 kip, which was delicious (had a great Laab at Silver Naga hotel as well, seems to be same recipe).
Beef spicy salad - 35,000 kip - just ok.

Wifi didn't work.

Similar to Silver Naga Hotel, they have 2 for 1 cocktails between 5 and 6pm. A good place to watch the sunset. Mango cocktail seemed to be the best. Suspicious of the amount of alcohol which is actually included, so probably better off sticking to beer.

As prices seem to be similar to Silver Naga Hotel, I would probably head there instead, as it just seemed a bit more polished.
