If you have a choice, don't stay here. However, it is cheap and the food is quite good locally produced fare. It is also right on the river with a nice view and at the quiet end of town - all positive attributes in Vang Vieng. The rooms are large and clean but the bathrooms have been tiled by someone who was either drunk or had no spirit level - the floor in my bathroom was constantly awash and I was in fear of slipping over every time I went in there. There is free wifi but it rarely works. The hotel is huge and usually full of tourist buses of Koreans or Lao people. However, if you stay in the outlying buildings it is not noisy. The other hotel with a similar name - Thavonsouk resort - is way way better!

Room tip: Don't stay in main building. If you want good wifi you won't get it.

The hotel is located near Song river. The room is big but not so comfortable. I would rate this hotel as a budget hotel with a good view. In my room the curtain is not hung properly. There is no shower gel or shampoo or even a plastic shower cap.

The bus ride from Luang Prabang to Vang Vieng is not really for the faint hearted with three digit metre drops from the narrow highway...nor for the weak of stomach with switchbacks up one side and down the other...but to get off the bus and get to the room at the Thavisouk Hotel seemed like heaven. The room was comfortable and very clean...shower hot and clean towels and linen...very, very nice. Make sure your tuk-tuk or taxi takes you to the right hotel as there is another on the river shore by a similar name with an ' a ' instead of an ' i '. There's a great looking pool but the constant rain kept us out of it...breakfast ( included ) was ample with many different dishes and plenty of hot coffee and tea. The only thing to criticize would be that the food should be covered in some way, especially the breads tray as in the heat and rain flies were a bother...but that must be a problem everywhere. There are many. many rooms in a multitude of buildings and even with the bus tours coming and going daily, our space was nice and quiet.

Room tip: Looking at the mountains across the river, the left buildings seemed less transient, less comings and goings on a daily basis.

Good hotel about a 12 minute walk from the town center.Staff very friendly, although not much English spoken. Very helpful General Manager from Korea, trying very hard.
Get room in the left wing, amazing views of the river and mountains. Good size room, bathroom and balcony with all you need. No safe. Breakfast good, fruit, eggs to order, bacon, Asian dishes etc. Small adequate swimming pool. No problems with WI-fi, generally all over.

Room tip: Left wing, near restaurant

There is the small pool that is fulfilled in the clean water in the hotel. And the river activity and tge rental bike shop are near here. The room and the bathroom are good. And reasonable price.
