We stayed at this hotel last October and till now we remember that very weekend we had over there. Everything was fabulous.. The Room, the people, the pool and the atmosphere itself.. This hotel is unique in its concept. Its not compact,,,
Food lovers will be pampered to taste the different cuisine under one roof. The main restaurant caters for almost all your needs and taste. Whether at breakfast or at dinner.. And everything tastes good.. I experience the lagoon, you will amazed to see its beauty.. Nice fish, even a tortoise.. Though its windy and excellent for Kite surfing, you don't really feel it. We dream to come back again. Long Live Outrigger Mauritius!!

Room tip: Choose Beach front Rooms. Nice view of the pool and the premises from bathtub, Ocean view from your bed.

Hi

Stayed here end of Jan with 2 friends.

3 of us were allowed in 1 room, massive super king bed and 1 single bed

Rooms are lovely and had a great sea view on the third floor.

Hotel is on the beach, the beach is public but not a lot of people pass, only people selling dressing ect. They are overpriced.

Hotel location- depends on what your looking for but for us it was in the wrong location. We like to go out and explore and there is nothing around this hotel to do. Everything is in a taxi and closest restaurant is 15 mins.

If you are planning to come here and not leave the hotel then this place is ok.

Staff were pretty slow at servicing, they don't come to the beach you have to order at the bar.

Plenty of sun beds

Breakfast is a good enough spread.

We did half board as we don't like to stay in the hotel.

Taxis ordered at the hotel are very expensive. We paid 2300 rupees to visit friends in Albion and they got us a local price of 1000 on the way back.

We were surprised to find out this is rated a 5* family hotel which means 4 star.

Service is not of a 4* more of a 3*

The decoration of the hotel is beautiful and good enough.

Room service menu was bad and only offered tandoori chicken and pasta, I complained and they made us a sandwich.

Hotel to buy stuff is quite expensive, would suggest going outside the hotel.

La morne beach is 15-20 taxi ride, it's a stunning beach with amazing views and white sand and you can horse ride alone the beach, amazing experience. It cost 3200 rupees for a 1 hour ride. Great place for pictures and the guide will take pictures for he whole ride if you give them your camera.

We did a day trip through Solis, went from blue bay on a speedboat. Had the best day. Our guides were Gil and Fabio and they were brilliant. They took us to loads of places and we snorkelled in amazing coral. Well worth the money.

To summarise, we had a wonderful trip, hotel is lovely but in the middle of nowhere, staff could do with a lot of improving, beach was ok, moden hotel. Would recommend to people who don't want to do anything but not to people who want to go out and explore. All the locals have advised Flick and Flack is the best place to be, amazing beach in the heart of the shops.

Dear Missecp,

We are sorry that you selected the wrong location for your holiday and this marred your stay with us.

For clarity the overnight room service menu that you refer to has a number of items but we were pleased that we able to accomodate your off menu request for three club sandwiches.

We appreciate the feedback.

With best wishes

We had a room overlooking the ocean and it didn't disappoint one bit. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. Advice would certainly be to book all inclusive. Drinks and food outside this are really expensive. The hotel is very up front about what constitutes all inclusive and what doesn't, but if you stray from this, be ready to get your hat nailed on! The restaurants and the 'self service' food are both excellent. We would be back in a flash :-)

Room tip: All the rooms are good as far as we could see

As newcomers to the island, we decided to book six nights here and the six nights in the north. This hotel was the perfect setting for an introduction to Mauritius and we could not fault anything. We did not take advantage of any of the other restaurants as we found the Mercado provided more than enough variety. From previous reviews, the staff have come under criticism. Well we found them charming, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. If you are looking for a hotel near a busy town and night life, don't come here. We recommend a hire car if you want to explore further than the beach. The sea isn't very deep so you have to wade out quite far and avoiding the coral reefs is a challenge. However the hotel pools are excellent and well maintained.
