Loved our stay here. Service was excellent. Thank you Raphael- who checked us in and out. Very efficient and helpful.

The room was lovely. They light a fire during the turn down service-if you like, which made the room even consider.

The grounds and the views are breathtaking!

And because it's February, it was warm. I hope to be back soon.

Located at the foot of Mt Kenya at the outskirts of Nanyuki and right on the equator, this Fairmont property is the closest we have been to paradise. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. Guests travel through a game reserve to reach the main gate where you are welcomed by name with a cool towel and a luscious drink. From there the pampering continues to the restaurants and the pool area. The sweetest times are in the morning as the sun rises on the ancient Mt Kenya. Staff are superbly trained in the art of hospitality. A return visit is a must.

Room Tip: All rooms good but have the balcony face the rear of the property towards Mt Kenya

I have become an annual visitor to this great establishment. Located about 3 hours away from Nairobi on some of the most breathtaking gardens by the mountain, it is always a peaceful retreat for any weather beaten Mom. It is perfect for adults and children of any age. From swimming, to biking, to a pet orphanage, board games, golfing, fishing...the little people in your life will have a whole range of activitities for them. For the grown ups, you have loads to choose from. I always bet on their spa.

The rooms all have fireplaces because it gets very chilly at night and they make sure to leave a hot water bottle in your bed to warm things up for you. Having a daughter with all sorts of allergies, I'm confortable that there will be something for her to eat at every meal and if we can't find something she fancies, the chef goes the extra mile for her. And so, I will always come back because they go the extra mile.

Kids will love feeding the pigmie hippo, bongos, lamas and monkeys as well as riding the giganomous Speedy, an old old Tortoise. If they don't fancy Speedy, there's horseback riding for them too.

I love that I can take a break from life and have my children relax and play as well without me feeling stressed out. If you want to exercise and burn out all that delicious food, there's a gym and running and biking trails too.

For those of you who are not keen to be on the road for 3 hours, you can always fly to Nanyuki or hire a chopper to drop you onsite!

But even the greatest place can be dampened by terrible staff and thankfully, everyone seems to have been trained to go the extra mile for clients. And so, for three years in a row, I have found my way back there.

This place was unbelievable. Upon arrival, we were met by a multitude of peacocks, Ibis and Marabou storks. The resort is at the base of Mt. Kenya. There are huge gardens to walk around in, with Colobus monkeys and many other cool creatures to see. There is also an animal orphanage that you can visit that is awesome. Get to be close and personal with many of the African creatures. The rooms are so incredible. Open your drapes in morning to see the sun rising over Mt. Kenya. Then there is the staff, wonderful people. I think out of all the travel we have been fortunate enough to do, Mt. Kenya Safari Club has to be the most incredible place we have stayed at. Do yourself a favour and add it to your list.

Highly recommend.
