We visited Yosemite recently and stayed at the Lodge for 3 nights. The room was clean and the location in the park was perfect. Our overall impression was that this was a 2 star room with a 4 star price in a 5 star location but there are very few options. This is a basic room without a/c but the fan worked fine during our stay. The food options were fine at the lodge but the $5 oatmeal did get my attention as a good example of the pricing.

So, if you are looking for a five star room, with all mod cons, you clearly don't get what Yosemite National Park is all about! These are basic rooms (yes, I know they aren't cheap!) but they are clean (the carpet is grubby, but it is used by people who hike), there is a fridge (great for storing wine, snacks, etc.), we had table and chairs with an amazing view, a communal pool, access to a free transport shuttle and restaraunts. Walls are paper thin (honeymooners, be warned!) but the setting is stunning, and it is great for a multitude of hikes.

Room Tip: We were in Beech house. During the day, the road was noisy, but at night it is quiet. If you are a...

we love everything about this place, there is a good choice of food options in the park to suit every pocket. our room was clean and had an efficient fan which we needed as Yosemite temperatures reached 90 degrees at the end of june.As we live in the uk we can only manage a holiday here once every 2 years. we do not use a car as the park has an excellent free shuttle bus.we use a tour company to drive us into Yosemite from san francisco and they collect us after 5 days. This avoids queues and precious hiking time spent looking for car park spaces. This is a really good location for all ages .We will be back but be warned, this popular lodge gets booked up very quickly.

Room Tip: our two stays in different lodge buildings were fine for us

First of all, you stay at the lodge for the location. We could walk out of our room and look up to see Yosemite falls. But beyond that the room was comfortable and larger than we expected. It was clearly built several years ago but the room was clean and comfortable. We had lots of room for luggage, a mini frig to store treats and a nice patio to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Don't go expecting a 5-star luxury but it was 5-star location.

Room Tip: Book early!

We were fortunate enough to get one night at the Lodge. The rooms are cozy and clean as is the bath and dressing area. Beds are comfortable enough, after a full day on the trails. Although there is no AC, but we did get cool at night and needed the extra blankets. These rooms are not fancy. They are extreamly clean and appointed in a 'lodge' decor. What you are paying for here is the LOCATION. And it is worth every penny. The restaurant next door is good and has a great view of Yosemite falls. Check out the general store for supplies and libations. If your lucky like we were, your room could have a view of the falls too. The rooms have either a balcony or patio and are wonderful to sit and take in the scenery. Make sure to register early in the day as it makes check-in @ 5:00 much easier. Registration and check-in were effortless and quick. Over all this is an excellent place to stay while visiting Yosemite National park.

Room Tip: Register early, before actual check-in.
