I love both the visual beauty as also the auditory excellence of the acoustics in this great hall.

Attending a concert in this grand hall is always a treat and looking up at the amazing crystal chandelier gives you chills! The majesty of this performance venue is only part of the history. SO many of the music world's most famous performers have graced the stage at Music Hall. We heard that some of their ghosts return here too! The CIncinnati Ballet no longer performs the Nutcracker on this stage - and rumor of a revision to the hall seating and interior is pending. Too bad since it is a real historical gem as it is. I have been in it for other presentations (such as Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor and others) and the place was packed.
Sign up for an upcoming tour and top it off with a performance by the CSO. You won't be disappointed.

In 1873. Cincinnati Music Hall was built for the MAY CHORAL FESTIVAL. It is the musical venue for various demanding events; The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO), The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra (CPO), Cincinnati Opera, Cincinnati May Festival, and Cincinnati Ballet along with other independent music theaterical shows.

These events are performed in the Springer Auditorium with its fine accoustical sound, on three levels of permanent seating (orchestra, balcony, and gallery) with the capacity of seating in excess of 3,000 attendees. For the most part the sight lines are very good with only a few obstructed views.

The foyer, outside the main floor of Springer Auditorium is often used for private catered parties. As well as the Music Hall Ballroom, Corbett Tower and Critic's Corner. These locations are ideal for business meetings, weddings, receptions and sit down catered functions.

The Cincinnati Music Hall is under going a multi-million dollar updated revitalizing with construction scheduled for 2012- 2014. In the mean time, The Cincinnati Taft Theater and Aranoff Center will be the temporary performance home.

Guided tours of this building (for a small fee) are given with advanced reservations. But most of the time, it is best to check it out while attending an event.

If you're able to go within Music Hall itself, you'll see what a remarkable place it is! I usually go during the summer opera season, and each time, I make sure to go early so that I can just wander through the open space and take in the history and opulence of the building. I'm honestly surprised I'm the first to review, as so many people enjoy the entertainment that appear on the stage here. If you can attend any show here, whether it's with the symphony, opera, etc, I would! It'll take your breath away!
