“Interesting stuff to see, poorly managed”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2012

What a shame, with all the things this museum could showcase, it is nearly empty. The stuff it has is interesting, but there's just not much of it. I've seen more in house museums in Lexington.

Hopefully they'll find a good manager and it will get on its feet.

“Educational trip...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2012

Out of the attractions in Cincinnati (though not very many) this would not be one of my first choices. Although a very cool place it gets boring at times. I think they should add more things to make this center more interesting for the public. The Freedom Center is a good place for class field trips (a way to get out of school), as well as anybody who’s interested in art or history. It has a lot of educational points and can be interesting at times. I particularly went for a class field trip which ended up being a pretty good day. I learned some new things and had a chance to see different styles of art. My favorite part of it was the section that talked about slavery that still exists today. It had very informative to events I didn’t know existed. That part was eye-opening. In my opinion, my experience was pretty good, parts of it gets boring and seems to drone on. Overall it’s a good place to visit to spend a few hours and get some educational learning.

“Moving and educational!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 February 2012

This is a hidden gem in Cincinnati. The Center can be enjoyed by adults and school age children alike. Docents are helpful and the Center is a wealth of information. Be aware that some of the exhibits on the upper floors are not age appropriate for elementary age children. However the exhibits dealing with the Underground Railroad in Ohio and the authentic slave pen are wonderful.

“A museum seeking a reason to exist”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 January 2012

Spectacular building on a prime site with great access and views. The museum itself is worht visiting once but is otherwise mostly a waste of time. Except for the main entry exhibits the place has no reason to exist. Boring, unfocussed exhibits that don't generate excitement, create curiousity or provide any reason to join or return. The original premise wasn't bad but it's execution is terrible. Should have been converted to a casino and the exhibits moved to a less grandiose and more affordable locale.
