The hotel is about 1/4 of mile from the public Waikiki beach. Most likely you won't see much of water from the hotel views as there are other larger hotels blocking the view.
To get to the beach is a quick walk down the street (past McDonald's). The beach is rather packed during the day and is relatively small in the location. The road that backs up to the beach limits the width of the sand so most people are crowded together. The water was cold, since it was January but that was to be expected.
The rooms at the hotel were ok. Nothing spectacular. The balcony was a nice place to sit and relax when the sun wasn't hitting you. The COVID restrictions were a bit annoying, since there was no dine-in restaurant and our "free" breakfast was basically a boiled egg, some sort of bread and a coffee each day. I used the quotes on the free part because for us, it was a mandatory resort fee that made our breakfast free? Anyway, if you are simple eaters like us, this wasn't a bad thing as we used that each day before going out and spending more money on lunch/dinner/drinks.
The shop in the lobby was nice too. It had just about anything we needed and if it didn't the little shops each block had everything anyone would need.
