We have enjoyed this restaurant very much in the past, but not this time. First, I must say that the service is outstanding. Otherwise, it is so-so at best. New owners took over during the last year, and it is not what it used to be.
Do not bother looking at the menu online! The actual menu is much more limited than what is shown either on the restaurant's website or opentable.com. There was only one warm appetizer: escargot. Previously, they had foie gras, but it was nowhere to be seen - or eaten. Otherwise, there were cold appetizers, salads, and onion soup. The entrée choices seemed more limited than previously. There were fish dishes, but no shellfish other than scallops. The meat choices were uninspired. They did not have the usual (for the asking) beef quartet. I finally ordered a rib eye steak, which was cooked as ordered, and the Gorgonzola butter on the steak was very tasty. The potatoes were good but barely warm. I almost needed a magnifying glass to find the vegetables: one small carrot, a small piece of squash, and a small slice of zucchini, and none of those tasty enough to be worth the effort of chewing.
It was strange that when I made the reservation, 7:00 PM was not available, but the restaurant was maybe two-thirds full at that time and afterward. No one was in the private dining room.
I would like to reiterate that the service was impeccable. The limited menu and uninspired food prevented us from having a very good or memorable dinner. We won't return.
