Make it easy on yourself and let the chef take care of your decisions. We got the smaller of the two choices of tasting menus, with wine parings, and it was more than enough. Every dish was fantastic, and it was a very fun experience. The atmosphere is "smart casual," meaning no jeans, but also no tie required. I loved the lobster and shrimp lasagna, but the best part of the meal was the coconut - a uniquely beautiful and delicious dessert.

Came directly from Airport after flying for Over 12 hours. Staff was very inviting and accommodating to our jet lag. Our martini was served to perfection as was the meal. Excellent wine list to choose from. Started with an appetizer of clams, mushrooms and pork steamed in foil. Known as Da Bag. Needless to say we had a very memorable night. Highly recommend

My wife & I visited Alan Wong's several years ago & we thoroughly enjoyed the experience & thus decided, to celebrate our 25th anniversary we woul visit again. We were not disappointed. The high quality & standards of our previous visit were maintained , if not surpassed.
We had the 7 course sampler menu. Simply outstanding with the foie gras & lobster being the highlights. My only complaint would be that, for a sampling menu , the portions were just a bit on the large side - but what sort of a complaint is that ?
Service could not be faulted- so friendly & competent. The open kitchen just never seemed rushed- so professional & in control. Also, for a 5 star restaurant, we loved the Casual atmosphere- no need for jacket & tie here! The icing on the cake was the surprise for us for our anniversary - to be treasured for many years to come. If you visit Honolulu you must visit Alan Wong's- quite superb.

Is on the 3rd floor, elevator smelled like someone had died... not a good start. Once seated, given menus and wine list. THEN.... comes the waiter who takes the wine list OUT of my hand that I was reading. Never, ever, anywhere have I had this occur. How rude. Waiter was all full of himself... very animated, felt like he was speaking to a child had never seen a menu before. I travel international a lot, and eat at top places, quite a few in top 100, and this guy was quite unique. Very noisy, full of little oriental girls on there cell phones doing selfies... For me, a horrendous atmosphere. Had seafood cakes for starter, 3 small ones. Very good, BUT.. only luke warm so by time to 2nd was cold. Very good beet and tomatoe salad. Had lamb chops, excellent quality meat, but ruined for me with a sweet soy sauce or something like it on the mushrooms that covered the chops.. yuk.

We have traveled extensively in Europe, Mexico, The Carribean and the U.S. After dining at Alan Wongs the bar has been set very high. The waitre and staff were very informative and they explained our meals with exquisite detail. The wine pairings were spot on. We had a five course dinner and each course was amazing. The menu had our names printed on it to celebrate our anniversary and we took that home as a memento. They dessert was very tasty and they included a second dessert for the anniversary. We were blown away by the great service and the high quality gourmet food.
