We were in the area and decided to try a new place. We stopped in at one of the many dim sum restaurants in the Chinese Cultural Plaza downtown. Our friends have recommended Fook Lam and commented on the different selections that are available. I must tell you that most of the dishes have 3 pieces so it's good to go in parties of 3 or 6 people. We ordered a lot of food for just 2 people. They have carts of food that are wheeled around and you just tell the servers what you want. They will also come around when a fresh dish is out. They walk around with food on trays. Food is plentiful. The only bad thing is that their prices are higher than most other restaurants in the Chinatown area. Try them for a change in pace.

This place was recommended to us by a local! It's a bit tricky to find - along the canal is the best hint. It is genuine Chinese - we were the only "westerners" there for lunch. We were well looked after; the Dim Sum was fresh tasty and great variety. we would return.

Located in the heart of Chinatown, this establishment is very good. The variety of dim sum is excellent. Many types of buns are available, in addition to the standard Char Siu Bao. My favorite is the Chicken bun. Egg custard and salted egg yolk buns (very good when hot and fresh) are also available. Shrimp balls are excellent. Siu Mai are very good. I love the Shanghai dumplings which are just as good as those served anywhere (they easily rival those served at a popular place in Flushing, NY (well known for this dish). Many other dishes are special and not found elsewhere. The fried noodle with XO sauce is a bit spicy but enjoyable. Look fun in a pot is another house specialty. This dish is quite good but a bit on the oily side. Dining area is a bit noisy, being a bit crowded. Service is just like any typical Chinese restaurant, but the lady owner is very friendly and accommodating, always with a big smile. Price range is $$ (scale of 5). Definitely recommended for Dim Sum.

I've eaten here several times and I've never been disappointed! They have a lot of things that are not on the menu so read the newspaper by the entrance because it mentions some of it. You must try the Hong Kong style noodles with beef and vegetables, the Shanghai dumplings are excellent as well......everything is tasty here!

This was one of the two places that was open at 8:00 am. We went with no expectations but was very satisfied with the service and quality of food.
