Nice but disappointed

This trip was for our 50th wedding anniversary. We were being remarried at the Ilakai hotel on the 30th floor at the Pesca restaurant and chapel.
The wedding ceremony was flawless the Pesca staff amazing, especially Alan and Rhea who put all of it together with short notice.
Our trip of course was during Covid.
We has reserved an upgraded suite with ocean view and had talked with hotel reservations when we arrived we received an old worn room with marina view. Once we complained we were moved to a ocean view room still very worn with minor cleanliness issues.
The staff was friendly and accommodating if asked.
The restaurant Cinnamons we were most disappointed in. There food was bland, the drinks appeared to be watered down and we had a hard time to even find them open. The bellman and the Valet staff were excellent and worked very hard to accomodate your needs

Congratulations on your 50th wedding anniversary! Amazing! I'm glad you had a nice ceremony at the Chapel but do apologize for the room not meeting your expectations. We are currently looking to replace the carpets and sofa beds as they are the originals from 2014.

I do hope you give us another opportunity to assist you with a future reservation. If given another opportunity, please contact me directly and I will be more than happy to assist you.

Horrible hotel - DO NOT even consider to book this hotel when you are in Honolulu

This is my last time staying in this establishment!!! Your rate seems low but you charge a $25 amenity fee then $50 fee that we only ask for towers, coffee, tea once during our 4 nights stay with NO maid service!!! TV never work!!!
This hotel sucks!!! Hotel shut down few elevators during such busy season!! We had to wait for half an hour in order to go down to the lobby is unacceptable!!

Listed on the amenities page of our website, you can find the amenities fee listed in addition to any other charges you might expect. In regards to cleaning, our housekeeping services are being provided on a limited time basis currently out of consideration for our guests’ and staff’s health and safety. Feels like home

Kind staff unpretentious local hotel it’s perfect just the way it is close to everything . Restaurant is now open we stay here all the time. Big kitchen if your into that there’s a little store to get your goodies too

Perfect location and renovated rooms

We found the location to be perfect. It is close enough to the marina, lagoon, beach and food, but away from the congestion of the Waikiki area. Nicely renovated, our 2 BR suite was very spacious for 5 people. All staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The valet parking cost was reasonable (not ridiculous like other touristy, big cities). The only thing I would suggest is the room needed the carpet cleaned, this was not enough though to affect our stay and rating. BTW for those who have watched Hawaii Five-0 (1970s and 2010s) the hotel has some historic significance!

Best two bedroom suite in Waikiki.

Very roomy and cozy. Nice huge layout. Bed was super comfortable. The pillows were great. No kinks in my neck. Front desk staff were super super friendly and attentive. The kitchen was supplied with good cooking utensils and fixtures. Only the blender seemed to be out of whack-- not operating as a usual blender should-- very slow to blend or mix-- the motor seemed to be almost used up.
