Don't be fooled by the 'ocean view' on their web site. The view is between tall buildings, nothing like the photo. The rooms are clean but very small and cramped. There is no in room wi-fi. You have to go to the lobby and get a password and then use your computer in the lobby. VERY inconvenient during a two week stay. The in room coffee is so bad that it forces you to go to the lobby once again and buy Starbucks for $4!!!! Two blocks away there is a real Starbucks with free wifi that has a large Venti coffee for $2.25, the hotel's largest was a grande 12oz.
No matter what you hear the $15 bowl of mac & cheese from the hotel restaurant it's a flat out rip off. Go to Lulu's above Starbucks, good food friendly atmosphere and very reasonable prices.
We were on the 16th floor with "ocean view" and the traffic noise was so intense that ear plugs and a pillow over my head offered no relief. We were absolutely exhausted after our stay here and vow never to use Hilton again.

Room Tip: Run away as fast as you can.

This is a basic hotel but it has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff are friendly, rooms are clean and fitness center is reasonably well equipped. The hotel looks a bit rundown and the executive lounge was a disappointment - it's in the basement (why when it could have a view of Waikiki?) and is very basic. We arrived late on our first night so I ordered room service from MAC 24/7. It was almost inedible and very expensive. However it did arrive within about 20 minutes. I ate breakfast at MAC 24/7 the following morning and the food is ok but you get quantity not quality. I think the location is good - it's a few blocks from the beach and shopping strip which we liked.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 35th floor overlooking the beach. It was nice however there are a lot of buildings in the way. I wouldn't want to be further down the building.

Thank you for your review. We are happy that you found the rooms clean, and our staff friendly, but are disappointed that you did not have a pleasant experience with your room service order and were not thrilled with the location of the lounge. While we realize that the lounge is not in an ideal location, we are currently in the process of making changes to create a more pleasant lounge experience. We hope that you will come see us again in the near future.

We had executive room on 33rd floor with a balcony overseeing the sea. The view was quite nice and the room was spacious enough for two. Very clean and bathroom well equipped.

Location was ok, not great, it is in the end of Waikiki and there's a bit of walk to the "center". However, for example the surfing spot of queens is very close so it was convenient walk away

Only real minus was the executive lounge. No free alcohol and pretty poor selection of other amenities

Overall, Prince Kuhio was everything I'd expect from a Hilton: Solid quality rooms and good enough location with a nice view. Lounge was a bit of a let-down

Thank you for your great review of the hotel. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed your room and its amenities, especially the view! I do apologize about the letdown in the lounge, but I would like to let you know that we are in the process of testing out some new menu items and also revamping the lounge experience in general. We hope that you will return in the near future for an improved lounge experience and more. We hope you had safe travels home, Aloha and Mahalo!

We stayed at the Hilton Prince Kuhio from march 31-April 8 2012. The hotel was great. The pool is heated, the MAC 24/7 is wonderful and fairly priced. You are a 3 block walk from Waikiki beach and all the shopping. Hotel is quiet and clean. Staff are helpful. I love that you need your card to access elevators, pool, fitness room etc. fitness area is well equipped too! If you don't care about being right on the beach then this is a great choice. However if I was going to spend more, I would rather get a lower end room in a hotel on the beach rather than a higher end at the Hilton. The on the beach experience cannot be beat! Beds are so comfy too!

Room Tip: Don't bother with Hanuama Bay....it has gotten bad. Instead rent a car and visit Kailua beach. Gorgeous!!

Stayed here for 3 nights before starting our cruise. Had an ocean view room on the 19th floor - superb views of Waikiki beach. Room was lovely and bathroom great. Staff we met were all very friendly. We preferred being 1 block from the busy beachfront area and certainly liked "our" hotel better than the other Hilton which we visited with American friends. Would love to return some day.
