The building exterior looks old and worn, but the interior of the actual apartment is modern and well maintained. The lounge is a sofabed the size of a double. There is a dining table for 4 with a moderately sized kitchen, fully stocked with all necessary items you would need for self-catering. The bedroom is actually ample in size. Lots of wardrobe space, with beach umbrellas, beach chairs and mats, plenty of beach towels, extra pillows and blankets to make you feel right at home. The bathroom is fine and suitable for a single adult. Bath towels are also provided, but bring your own toiletries. There is air-conditioning in the place. The best is the car park for free. The lifts are a little slow though. The apartment is an easy ten minute walk from the heart of the Waikiki action, but perfectly safe. Enjoy sweeping views of the canal from your balcony. For the price paid, it certainly makes staying in Waikiki very affordable. The owner, Jana, is also helpful with any queries you may have.
My boyfriend and I just got back from ten nights in this condo and we both thought the place was great. It was clean and neatly decorated and had all the basic necessities in the kitchen and bathroom. (Wine opener? Check. Beach towels? Check. We didn't really find anything lacking.). There is some street noise, but it's mostly just the white noise of cars driving by and we had no trouble tuning it out to go to sleep; sure, there was the occasional ambulance or garbage truck, but what are you gonna do? There is air conditioning (see previous review and response), but it was off when we got in and the knob was a bit wonky, but it worked great, except for the one day it was off in the building for maintenance. But there's a ceiling fan, a counter-top fan, and plenty of windows to open, so it was no problem at all. We had a bit of a hiccup when we first arrived--the lock box with the keys in it was apparently changed in between the time we were given instructions regarding it and the time we got to it, so we were looking for the wrong thing for a bit, and then, when I found what I thought *might* be the right lock box, it wouldn't open--but that was apparently user error; we were inside the condo after maybe ten minutes of fumbling. It was almost two in the morning at this point, so it was perfectly reasonable that our call wasn't answered; our messages were returned before 8 a.m. The key required quite a bit of jiggling to work in the elevator, but that was about the biggest inconvenience, and that's pretty inconsequential. Our stay was very pleasant and i would definitely recommend it.
