Anyone who knows us knows that we love mochi ice cream. The first time we tried these were from Lawson Station in Waikiki and then we found that they had lots at Coco Cove too. Well, after our windward beach-hopping tour and hike up to Makapuʻu Lighthouse, we headed to the Mecca of mochi ice cream… Bubbies.
Bubbies Homemade Ice Cream and Desserts is located in the Koko Marina Center of Hawaii Kai (a short jaunt away from Hanauma Bay and Halona Blow Hole).
Clockwise from the top: guava, lychee, sakura, pistachio, lilikoi and blueberry in the middle. These delectable cold treats have a thin, chewy layer of mochi that is wrapped around ice cream. They were so good after the sweltering hike up Makapu’u.
They also have a selection of ice creams, floats, malt and sundaes if those are more to your liking.
