We are Hilton timeshare owners. So it is always obvious for us to chose properties on the islands that fit this.
The property is nice. Very busy.
The condo was clean, neat, comfortable and suited our needs. We had a great harbor view from one balcony and a great view of the main street. It was nice for people watching and watching the clouds rollover the mountains behind the buildings.
Great location for getting to Waikiki Beach, restaurants, tour activities, bus routes and shopping.
Be prepared for parking fees! They are very excessive!!!!!!!

The Hilton Waikiki Beach resort has a number of hotels clustered together with pools, shops and lagoon all within the complex. The Grand Waikikian is situated a 5 minute walk from the lagoon and beach and close to the shopping area and pools. We were lucky enough to have a Penthouse Suite (2 bedroom) on the 36th floor with views over the beach and Hilton Village, the suite itself is very large, 2 great size bedrooms (With great beds, very comfortable) and bathrooms (With each bedroom having a Jacuzzi bath also), the dining area and lounge is large (There is a bed settee in the lounge if required). There are 3 TV's in total with HBO etc, so plenty of choice if you require. The kitchen is well equipped, with oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The staff that cleaned rooms did a wonderful job with a great evening down turn service.

The sir conditioning in the suite was very efficient and kept us cool at night.

We had two very large balconies with stunning views

Having a Penthouse Suite gave access to the Penthouse lounge, the staff there were lovely and very helpful, we especially enjoyed the breakfasts that were made available and the evening meals/snacks were very nice - In fact the healthy menu meant we did not put on any weight during our stay :-).

The hotel shop on floor 2 was well stocked and open from 7am to 11pm, very useful, you may pay a bit more but saves a walk.

The lobby, floor 2 areas were always calm and quiet, very nice to come back to after a busy day out.

We would love to come back, Oahu has much to offer beyond Waikiki and we can recommend getting a car and exploring the island.

For those who like to shop, the Waikiki Beach area has fantastic range of shops and shopping malls, the Ala Moana Mall is a 25 minute walk away (Or a short bus ride).

Room Tip: The higher, the better the views.

I stayed at the Grand Waikikian in the Hilton Hawaiian Village for the fourth time and it may be my last, I feel Hilton don't seem to care for their guests as they used to do only want to over charge their guests. I found the value for the stay is a lot less than before. There is no lei greeting anymore, the atmosphere is dull at best. The prices at the village for food and beverages is getting to be unaffordable. I found a lot of the staff sitting around playing on their cell phones a lot, very few acknowlege the guests when they walk past. Waikiki is now just too over crowded with tourists for the size of the city and there is planning for many more high rises and I would recommend tourists look elsewhere like Maui or the Big Island.

We spent our the last part of our Hawaii vacation on Waikiki beach in August. In another review I wrote I would not spend time on the beach but the Hilton was very nice.

We had a two bedroom suite on the 38th floor. The hotel has very nice rooms that were clean and modern and we had a spectacular view.

The only negative was check-in. We made our reservation back in February and specified a two bedroom suite with One King bed and another with two queen beds. At check-in they only had suites with two king beds. This was not ideal for a family with two teenage boys.

I was told at check-in that Room Type is not guaranteed when the reservation was made. (News to me). So why specify the room type? This is something everyone should be aware of when you book a room at a vacation (time share) property and you are not an owner...

In the end the hotel did make it right and they magically came up with a room which made the stay very enjoyable.

The pools are nice but very crowded and the accompanying village and shopping is nice to walk around in. The hotel itself has very few accommodations like restaurants etc..

Very clean! Excellent customer service! Totally updated. We highly recommend. Had a suite so our family of four had two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Loved this place! Would definitely stay here again. Worth every penny!
