“Is this the best location in Waikiki?”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 May 2012

I have stayed at this location twice in Waikiki and think it has to be one of the best spots to base yourself from. The rooms are not 5 star, however they are comfortable and the beds were great..
I found the front desk staff very helpful and for the money this is a well priced place to stay. i do recommend it for families.

Room Tip: rooms on opposite side to International markets are quieter.

I stayed here approximately 12 times, I have always found the staff extremely helpful. I try to get a room on the opposite side of the international market as it can get quite noisy at night time. The location is excellent and the price is good. I just find it convient to everything and have never had any issues.

Room Tip: Definitely opposite the international market.

We stayed here one night before heading to our vacation cottage on another part of the island. We were on the 19th floor facing north, with a partial ocean view looking west from the balcony, over the Royal Hawaiian hotel. We were awakened in the early morning hours by some type of loud banging, which we never found out what it was. Shortly thereafter, around 4:30am, a parade of garbage trucks began picking up in the alleys and streets below, with the loud beeping, and the loud banging of picking up and dumping the large bins. About an hour later, another round came through. With our balcony door closed and no other window, this invaded our sleep in a horrendous way! Unbelievable. I would never stay here again, nor recommend it to anyone. Hugely overpriced, and impersonal/detached service, PLASTIC CUPS for water and STYROFOAM cups for coffee, similar to a Motel 6! (So much for being 'green', they will be happy for you to reuse your linens, though.)

Aloha JA and thank you for your feedback of the Beachcomber! We truly appreciate your comments and will try to improve upon the issues you mention in your review. The early morning noise was likely from the refuse trucks and we're working to have them begin their collection at a more reasonable hour. Regarding the disposable cups, the hotel decided to provide these instead of glass / ceramic ware in response to safety concerns. We do hope you give us another try should you return to Waikiki in the future and if you do, please contact me so we can do all possible to take care of you during your stay. Mahalo, Dean.

This was by far one of the most reasonably priced hotels in Wikiki. The parking was reasonable too. I have no complaints, the service was great. Because I am a platinum prioeity club member, I was offered extended checkout which was nice because I had a red eye flight out of HNL.

The hotel has great views and is within minutes from anywhere in Honolulu. This was my first time in Hawaii and when I do go back, I'll be staring here.

This hotel was centrally located for shopping (International Market Place just next door), restaurants (opposite the Cheesecake Factory) and local transport (public trolley stops and free shuttle to Hilo Hatties and Ala Moana Shopping complex close by). Thoroughly recommend!

Room Tip: We paid a little extra to guarantee an ocean view room - worthwhile
