Once more had an excellent experience at the Almondy Inn. Apart from the very central location and beautifully decorated rooms, hosts Evelyn and Herber both have the quality to make you feel at home. With their personal attention and little extras here and there, they create a warm, cosy atmosphere. All in all, the Inn feels like a 'home away from home'. I certainly hope to return there again!

Every November for the past seven years we return to the Almondy Inn for our anniversary celebration. From the first time we stayed there, we were treated like family. Evelyn and Herber, the innkeepers, have a passion and a love for what they do unlike any other we have experienced. We appreciate their attention to detail, for example, remembering what we had for the gourmet breakfast on previous visits and always preparing something new each time we return. The breakfast and evening wine and cheese are wonderful and relaxing. We have stayed in each room and have enjoyed all of them, each unique in its own way. November is an excellent time to visit Newport, less crowded, wonderful fall weather, very romantic. There is still plenty to do that time of year and the restaurants and shopping areas are all within walking distance from the inn. We have recommended the Almondy to close friends and family and all have enjoyed the experience as well. We plan to continue our yearly tradition for many years to come.

My husband and I visited Newport for the first time anxious to visit the mansions decorated for the holidays. Our trip was amazing due mostly in part with our stay at Almondy Inn. We felt at home at the inn and Evelyn and Herber made us feel so special. We felt as though we were one of the family.
We shared stories with other guests during a wonderful breakfast prepared by Evelyn and looked forward to our afternoon wine and cheese gathering with the new friends we made. The Inn is close to the main streets for shopping and dining. The rooms are tastefully decorated and immaculate. Our experience at Almond Inn was wonderful and we can't wait to return in the summer months.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms at the Inn were beautiful.

We took our son to Bristol for his first year at Roger Williams University. Very emotional time, but we decided to stay in Newport for the first time and found the Almondy Inn. What a great experience! So relaxing - felt just like home. Both Evelyne and Herber were warm and welcoming. Rooms are decorated so beautifully and the morning breakfasts are amazing!
We have made 4 trips to Newport staying at the Inn. Each experience has been wonderful.

We now make sure that we schedule "mini vacations" in Newport always staying at the Almondy Inn in Newport. It is truly a New England experience!!

Room Tip: Love the Burgundy Suite!!!

My Wife and I have been going to Newport since 1995 and enjoy our annual visit there. For the past 5 years we have stayed at the Almondy Inn. It is far the best placed we have stayed and is the reason we come back to Newport every August. Evelyn and Herb are special people and look forward to seeing them each year. They make you feel like one of the family and treat you as if you were. Having stayed in different Inns it is important to have Inn keepers that are not only friendly but care about your needs. Both Evelyn and Herb are just that and they strive to make your stay in Newport a memorable one. In regards to the Inn it self it is perfect. It has off street parking which is a big plus for Newport.(Most Inns do not have this). The rooms are impecable. We have stayed in three of the rooms(Burgundy Suite, Lanie Suite and Sunset Room). All are Spacious rooms, very clean and decorated with taste. Our Favorite is the Burgundy Suite situated on the first floor. The Inn is quite and keeps out sounds from the street. It is close to the main avenue which makes it ideal for shopping and dinning. In all the years we have stayed at the Inn there has not been any problems from the local establishments(etc Dinning or Bars). Our favorite thing about Newport is that it is very laid back and you can walk every where. There is no sense or worry about time when you are there The Almony Inn is located in the heart of the LampLight District which puts you close to every thing. Lastly the lasting memory we always leave with is Evelyn;s unique breakfast and the interesting people and conversations that we have around the dinning room table. We believe is the best experience one gets at a bed and breakfast. Over the years The people we have been fortunate to meet at the Almondy Inn has been memorable. From different walks of life we gather around a breakfast table and share our thoughts, experiences and family history. This is what life is all about being able to meet strangers and share a brief encounter with them. After which you leave being touched by something special. Evelyn Herb provide this unique atmosphere where you can experience this and without them I do not believe it would be the same.
