When we arrived it was most difficult to find the entry...when we did.....there were cones in front...which we moved. The person at the front desk could not answer most of our questions. The room was fine,,,the view spectacular. The couch was supposed to made up...it was not. We had to ask for clean towels as there was no one to clean our room and replace what had been used. The location was in the center of all things and you can walk to everything.

Room Tip: Only 1 bedrooms...ask for harbor view

The Inn is located just off Thames Street, which runs along the waterfront and is convenient to all things. It is a little dated and basic, but fine. The view of the harbor and buildings on the wharf is great. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful. We had a small suite on the top floor with a separate bedroom, living room with a sofa and armchair, a small round dining table, and a tiny but well equipped kitchen area that included a microwave, blender, noisy full size refrigerator, and a wee two burner electric stove top. No dishwasher or oven. We liked having the toilet and shower separated by a door from the sink and mirror area of the bathroom. We were disappointed to learn that the conveniently attached Port restaurant on the ground floor closed until April 2018. Other minuses were with the housekeeping provided: the trash was only emptied on Tuesday, not daily; I requested clean towels, but they were only changed on Tuesday; and neither the shower nor the carpeting on the floor was not cleaned well after the prior quests. Amenities limited.

Centrally located to all things downtown Newport...you can’t go wrong. Cindy at the front desk was accommodating and friendly. We had an amazing view from our room of the beautiful harbor and sunset. The rooftop offers chairs, tables and an amazing view of the harbor below. Great property.

If you are looking to relive your youth by staying in a college dorm, this is the place for you. First, the location and the view are great. Unfortunately, the room has all the charm and finish quality of a dorm room. Exposed sprinkler pipe, exposed concrete plank ceiling, cheap builder grade cabinets, appliances and furniture. No maid service which the hotel sites do not mention. You get the idea of the comfort level of this place. Room had a great view on the water but the two windows that should open don't open. There are a number of very nice places to stay in Newport, stay in one of those and avoid this place.

My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary a few weeks ago and we stayed at this property. We had a wonderful time.

The young man at check in was very friendly and we were able to check in a few hours early which was a nice unexpected surprise.

There were two women at the front desk during our stay. One was very friendly and the other not-so-much; but that didn't alter my opinion of the property. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Our room was spacious enough to accommodate four people. The sofa in the living room was a pull out bed. They only thing I wish we had was a King sized bed instead of a Queen. Other than that, it was perfect!

The sixth floor has a roof top deck and we went out there every night with a bottle of wine to watch the spectacular sunsets!
