Went into Criollo for Happy Hour and are kicking ourselves for not having gone sooner. We are big fans of their sister concept, Proper Meats and Provisions which makes it even worse that we hadn't been yet.

Wow, a flavored Margarita, a Tecate, a pair of fish tacos and a chorizo slider set us back $19 and was plenty for dinner. All were very good but the chorizo slider stole the show.

Great little place with excellent service and it's hard to beat the value.

Very lively place. A bit loud but food and service were very good. Quite popular during the summer but I would recommend it because the menu is interesting as well.

I hadn't been here for a couple of years. I've had some good meals but this lunch was really bad. The menu is always different, in a adventurous way. The two dishes were a Cuban pork sandwich and a Mescal cured salmon tostada with smashed avocado and greens. The sandwich came in a shallow soup bowl with a thin sauce. That made the sandwich wet and so messy that it was difficult to eat. It was huge. The diner ended up dumping the meat and melted cheese into the sauce and eating it with a fork. It was tasty. The salmon just tasted like old fish that wasn't cooked or properly cured. Something on the salad top looked like grilled worms. I suppose that was a nod to Mescal worms. The dish did not work. The server had to be called back to order a beer as she didn't ask about drinks when she took the order and left.

I don't know how to pronounce this place, but the food was very good. We got the veggie burger, catfish tacos, kids chicken quesadilla and fried plantains. The quesadilla was one of the best ever, and nothing is better than fried bananas! You could tell a lot of thought went into each dish. I liked that it used mostly local ingredients, and the menu was small but had a little bit of everything. Their tequila selection is EXCELLENT. I would reccommend this place to friends and family alike.

This restaurant serves incredible food! My wife and I shared the mussels in chorizo sauce which were simply wonderful. We each had a taco and also shared the beets. The beets were roasted and served atop a yogurt-like base (my description does not do justice to this dish) and topped with pepinos. The tacos and the mussels were very tasty, but the beets were terrific!
