By mistake we made flight reservation to leave Sitka on Monday. We were notified that most places that we’d not seen were closed. But we awoke to arrival of cruise ship was just landing, so everything was open!
This hotel gave us a taste of being in Alaska with the windows looking out on the water and mountains at the same time. Downstairs we found a cafe with delicious breakfast. Enjoy this place as everything was easy. to walk and explore

From being picked up at the Airport on Sunday evening by Kevin the mgr. of the hotel, to staying in room 300 for 2 days, I had a very enjoyable stay in Sitka. The room was very clean with a large bathroom, desk, flat screen TV, a coffee brewer and small refrigerator. I would suggest that a desk lamp would be a nice addition to the room.
Kevin takes a great interest in the hotel and was extremely helpful and kind to me during my stay. He cheerfully drove me to the ferry on Tuesday.
The Hotel is right in the middle of downtown and 1 block to the bus stop.
Lucy

Room Tip: Ask for updated room.

We were visiting my nephew and needed a place to stay for a few days. We found this place to be very friendly and very comfortable. The restaurant food and beers on tap were also outstanding. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to book a room so you can get a view of the mountains. We were just there and saw snow on the mountain tops.

Apparently this property has been going through renovations and updates which have translated well. We arrived before the stated check in time which was no problem as they checked us in and we received keys.

My room (205) was exceptionally clean and well appointed with better than average bedding, a bathroom with amenities, a Keurig coffee maker and flat screen tv with a great selection of channels, My only problem was the remote hasn’t been paired to the TV which was a bit annoying having to use the buttons on the tv for power and volume.

It’s in a perfect location as Sitka has a very compact downtown area and it’s within easy walking distance to everything. It has a very good restaurant on premises, being off season the restaurant opens late afternoon which makes getting breakfast inconvenient; however, their dinner menu is imaginative, is prepared and presented with pride.

I found the staff very accommodating and caring about my experience and would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend this property.

Thanks for a great stay!

Stayed 2 nights while visiting Fortress of the Bears and Raptor Sanctuary. Booked a standard room, mountain view. This was at the rear of hotel and was very quiet, spacious room, very clean and overlooked rear car park. Location is good, right on main street, restaurant is pub type, typically noisy, menu limited but food good. While there used Sunset Cab to get around and found him extremely knowledgeable about Sitka and willing to pick us up at 4.30 am to return to airport.

Room Tip: Choose a rear room away from noisy restaurant.
