Stunning scenery just by driving. Plenty of trails for every hiking level/experience. Make sure to stop by the museum/visitor center, then take the paved path down to see the General Sherman

I went to Sequoia and Kings as s must-do trip! The winding drive from Three Rivers was beautiful and the perfect lead-in to the park. Entry was easy, welcome center well-situated, stocked and manned. Got my souvenirs and went too see the Grant tree/Grove. AMAZING! The majestic beauty of the redwoods is a sight you will never forget. As I continued on my way to the Sherman tree the park was so crowded that parking was non-existent, but this was July and EVERYONE was on vacation. No surprise. So I metered my trip by going to areas that were not labeled as mainstays, and by doing so I was able to get some good hiking see some great trees and to get wonderful pictures of them. I’ll post them. I drove through the other end of the park and continue on my way to Visalia and enjoyed the trip from start to finish. I will go again and what I hope will be more of an off-season to see what I was unable to see the first round. if you want to see beauty nature, and be humbled by God’s grace and mighty creations, you must go see the redwoods in Sequoia. I would think it would be a bucket list item. It should be. As well worth your time an experience you will never forget.

We were here for a few days in June 2024. This is a beautiful park with a little different look than Sequoia. The trees here are amazing. We enjoyed the many hiking trails, which are marked well. We would highly recommend this national park.

This is such a unique and amazing place to visit. It is definitely a must see national park. I won’t repeat the highlights that everyone else has written about. However, here are some suggestions on how to deal with some observations / issues from my last three-day trip over Memorial Day weekend:

-Limited cell phone service. If you have your Google Maps open and loaded, then with poor service, you’ll still be able to track where you are. This is perfect for hiking.
-Limited overnight hotel accommodations IN THE PARK. During the summer in Sequoia, the hotel/lodge slots can fill fast. It’s best to RSVP months in advance.
-Wuksachi Lodge. Beware, you can not cancel your reservation. Once it’s made, it’s made.
-Limited eating options. Lodgepole is the main place to purchase food and supplies. Very casual. Stock up before beginning your trek. There is also fine(r) dining at the Wuksachi Lodge.
-Shuttle. The shuttle system in Sequoia is pretty efficient and works really well. Definitely recommend using it.
-Holiday and summer weekend parking. Get your parking spot early. Legal parking spots on holiday or summer weekends can fill up fast. Once parked, you’ll either walk or shuttle from site to site. You won’t drive from site to site since finding a new parking spot can be hear impossible (depending on when you go of course).
