Upon arriving the sight we beheld was such that we were ready to leave. Hull of a sailboat, garage door all askew, heavy earth moving equipment parked by the driveway, then the debris on the front porch were all just unsightly for a B & B. The man answering the front door couldn't speak for the food that was in his mouth, nice! Sharon arrived momentarily and it appeared we had caught her unawares. But NO we called as she had repeatedly instructed us to give her a time frame for our arrival! The inside of her home was clean and neat as a pin! Then we placed a few items in the frig - at this point we decided we would not be staying for the breakfast she offered. Make your own conclusions. We rise early, so at 7 am we were up and looking for a spot of coffee. The pot had day old grounds and no coffee could be found to make any for ourselves. There was a very "clever" humor card on the kitchen counter alluding to a bear eating people that had knocked once too many times on the door.... We can take a hint. Packed up our bags and as we were pulling out of the driveway Sharon came running out of the house asking if we would be having breakfast. Declining as politely as possible, off we went. The very firm 8:30 breakfast time was not doable for us and I don't know anyone else that waits that late when you are trying to tour the sites. The drive into Sequoia was an arduous trip from her B & B taking at least 45 minutes on the most stressful roads with switchbacks and elevations!!! Glad we were moving away from that area. We do NOT recommend this place to spend any time to visit the Sequoia's.

Our place was not a good fit for Dawn and her husband. They expected a TV, refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in their room and we have none of that. I'm sorry they were disappointed upon arrival. Since they had booked for two nights and did not show up for the first night, I double checked with Dawn to make sure they would be here the second night and to learn their ETA.

After many guests and many breakfasts, I have determined 8:30 am to be a comfortable time for breakfast. Most of our guests have a leisurely meal and take time to enjoy the company of our other international visitors. Occasionally someone has an early departure, and I can accomodate that.

It's true the road to Sequoia is steep and windy. It is also very beautiful, which is why travelers come from all over the world to see the Giant Forest.

We have stayed 4 nights at SRBNB and very much enjoyed it.
Our room looked out the back to the river and mountains. Seperate bathroom but only a couple of steps away. Comfy, big bed, air con and ceiling fan. There is wifi as well.
Breakfast was superb. French toast made with croissant, spinach frittata, grits, clafoutis and every day fresh fruit and berries. Yum! Every evening there was a little cookie or something sweet.
There is a tv/ DVD area which also has board games and lots of books.
There is two or three patios and the upstairs balcony has a fridge for guest use.
Sharon is lovely. Full of local advice and very welcoming.
It's about 15 min drive to the Sequoia gates. 30 min to Visalia, 15 min to the lake.
Oh and the cat is a charmer :-)

We spent 3 nights at this B&B. Sharon is a very gracious hostess and made a great breakfast every day. It's only a 10 minute drive to the Sequoia National Park. All-in-all a great experience and we hope to do it again.

Sharon was such a wonderful hostess and a terrific cook. She made us feel very welcome and was quite knowledgeable about the area. If you're looking for a great value, stay just a few miles outside the park here. Also, be sure to introduce yourself to Kitty Kitty. :)
