We booked a weekend at this former B&B on the strength of the reviews here and their old and unchanged website, and it was a big mistake. Recently, since the favorable reviews shown here were written, the property was sold to a nearby hotel and the new management is rude, dishonest and the very opposite of what you look for in a B&B.
In our case, when we booked our room, we were directed to a central booking office which was very coy about the room we would be getting. When we showed up, we found out why: We were arbitrarily moved from what, on the outside, still appears to be a lovely property to one of the new management's old hotel rooms, a disappointingly musty and cheap looking place. When we complained, the desk clerk, who couldn't get us out of his sight quickly enough, basically told us on a busy Saturday night (when finding another hotel room would have been difficult) to take it or leave it. He gave us a song and dance about the amenities of the hotel (which the old B&B now shares, so there was no advantage there) and generally made us feel like fools. He lied to us about the error having been the fault of "the remaining La Tienda office," which we later discovered no longer exists. We checked out the next day and found much better for less elsewhere.
A word is also in order about the dishonesty of the website and the new management's approach to what a B&B should be. The website still touts the lovely afternoon tea which was once served at La Tienda; now, you can buy a cup of coffee from the machine in the lobby if you'd like. Breakfast (no longer served in the room, as the website still claims) is no better than you'd get at a decent motel these days -- and it is not the point of a B&B. Helpful staff is (or should be).
Overall a real pity, since from all indications this was a lovely place under the former management.
