Ski Santa Fe is an above average local ski destination. I wouldn't go out of my way to travel here from afar, but when the snow is good, and the crowds are low, this is a very convenient day trip through a beautiful grove of Aspen trees.

The ski mountain is wonderful and because it is "unknown," it's not as crowded as other ski resorts

Snow was great. The views are spectacular. Generally uncrowded unless you are there during spring vacation. Small area. Most of the black slopes are in the trees. Enjoyed the proximity to Santa Fe and ease of access.

My wife and I have taken lessons at three ski areas so far and Santa Fe is by far the best. They have excellent instructors and quite a few easy runs to learn on. It's a little pricey for me, I think full day lift tickets are $65, and equipment is about $30. But there are quite a few runs and I never get bored up there. The snow is of better quality than anything in the area, and occasionally it's even better than Taos.

The place itself should be wonderful during the winter time and at full season. Unfortunately, we went in April, when it was completely empty, skylift unoperative, very little snow and EVERYTHING closed, even public restrooms !
