This hotel is a great location. We have stayed all around the Plaza over last 20 yrs.
This was just not the warm friendly hotel
It could be very easily. They need to train the employees on hospitality. They could add to the profitability with heaters on the porch and a friendly waitress. It has so much potential. Do they not know it's all about the customers. I thought the rooms were small but when the maid was put out regarding changing the sheets- that's just not right with a 500.00 bill. It's a very middle of the road unless they pick it up a notch.

First , a perfect location, lovely lobby.

Second, cramped room, poor lighting, no art or touches of Santa Fe in the room, no luggage stand (had to use the nightstand), no coffee maker, no coffee in the lobby two out of three mornings (how does a hotel run out of coffee), hotel does not own the restaurant so there's no room service, Will charge for parking before they ask you if you used their lot.

Will not stay here again.

I would not give it even one dot. We had reservations for 6 days and after seeing the room, we knew it was a mistake. It was not very clean and very small. The chairs were hard leather and one was falling apart so no resting and reading. The bathroom was a good 6 inch high step to get into and in the middle of the night, very dangerous! The bathroom was tiny and had mold around the bath tub! I cannot believe they charge those rates and not even a coffee pot. Luckily we found a very nice suite with a balcony and fire place. Oh, and the restaurant was closed.

Many moons ago I stayed in this hotel when it was a pretty scary place. Dark, foreboding, questionable cleanliness! It think it was called the DeVargas then, not sure. Since becoming the Hotel St Francis it's charm has resurrected. The location could not be better. It's got a minimalist feel to it. In the summer the porch is a great place to enjoy a cocktail and there is a good bar and restaurant there too. Love being able to take my dog there. It's my go to place while visiting Santa Fe.

Room tip: Ask for king size beds, rooms are sometimes small

We were disappointed there was no holiday tribute, no hospitality, no interest gestures, no concierge, no amenities explained or offered, no other patrons for breAkfast lunch or dinner or bar. No real decor. When commented to desk clerk, she said maNy similar comments as such were made, owner says he doesn't care. That is how he wants it... totally minimal. There were no extra employees except clerk and housecleaning in the morning. Room was neat and clean. The old wooden floor appeared dirty, but may just be old and unfinished wood. Bathroom light was low. Room was cramped and furniture nicked the window light. Bedding was totally minimal just sheets and blanket and pillows! Colors were lifeless and drab. I liked the white but no enhancement. If this is your taste, good, we wanted more joyful ambience and celebration for Christmas on the Santa Fe, NM Plaza. We will not stay again.
