“Wonderful little adobe bed and breakfast with great hosts.”
Reviewed 10 July 2012

The only reason I'm not giving this B and B 5 stars is that we prefer a king bed, and we were only able to get a queen, which I believe most of the rooms have. However, we had a tiny suite, with a table and chairs, a fridge and sink, and bathroom and large closet. It was beautiful. The value for money was great. The breakfasts were tasty and generous, so we didn't bother with lunch. We didn't use our car for the first 2 days that we stayed there as we could walk to the plaza and everything that we wanted to do. The last day we took a very short drive to the aptly named Museum Hill. We only explored 2 of the museums and there are at least 2 more. (We didn't count.)

Room Tip: All the rooms looked pretty on line, with Southwest touches and color.

Scouseusa,

Thank you for your review. A four star rating is much appreciated in light of your reasoning why we missed a 5! We do have king beds as well as queens and are sorry you were unable to book into a king for your stay. We are fairly popular and have a large following as we've served folks for the last 27 years, and we are very affordable for downtown Santa Fe - so early bookings are encouraged! It's wonderful that you enjoyed your stay, the accomodations, breakfasts, location and Santa Fe! It makes us smile to see you call our suite beautiful, and it's our pleasure to fill your bellies for breakfast.

Thanks again for your positive feedback - we really appreciate it!

Sincerely,
Amy Behm

Our first visit to Santa Fe started with checking in at the Pueblo Bonito and we had a wonderful time. The location was perfect for walking to the Plaza! We parked our car on arrival and were on foot the next two days. We stayed in the Acoma suite and loved the many personal touches...pastel towels, night light, full kitchen, New Mexico decor and so much more. The breakfast was very fulfilling and the company in the dining room delightful.
We very definitely will return and would like to experience the same room when we can use the fireplace!

CathyG4,

Thanks so much for your review! We're so glad we were able to be a part of your first visit to Santa Fe. It's such a terrific city, isn't it? We're happy you enjoyed our personal amenities, breakfast, decor and hospitality - it's our pleasure to keep you comfortable. Our location is excellent and being able to park your car (without incurring additional fees!) and walk everywhere in historic downtown Santa Fe is a huge bonus when staying at Pueblo Bonito! Did you know that Santa Fe is named a top walking city in America?

Thanks again for your sweet words, and we're happy to have you back when it's colder to experience the fireplace for yourself!

We looked forward to our trip back and since we had been here before we had expected the same sort of experience. This time we were greeted by someone other than the owner and the gal, cannot remember her name, was OK but we got the feeling she wished she were elsewhere. Our room was a nice size and had a bathtub, a requirement this time as we seem to have a bit of a problem finding one at other B&B's. The A/C was running, it was a hot trip in the 90's, but we realized the A/C was loud but knew we could not live without it on this trip. We did not have adequate towels, just 2 bath size and 2 wash cloths, there were 2 of us but I need at least a face towel or another bath since I have long hair. The same gal got me another towel from a storage shed in the back of the property, kinda felt like I was asking a lot. We slept OK even with the loud A/C and had breakfast the next morning. I remember there were not gourmet breakfasts here but felt like the offerings were very too basic, great if you are in a hurry but we decided to go elsewhere the next day. The room where the breakfast is served is also very warm, no A/C in there, and they have a room with a fan but it was the living room not the dining. The biggest issue for us was the towels again when we went to shower the towels had an unpleasant odor to them like a scent that masked odors but unfortunately didn't clean the towels properly, and without extra towels we were stuck using them. When we went to check-out I needed to print my boarding pass out and realized they did not have a computer for guests to use so I asked if I could use theirs and they had a hard time with booting theirs up, it was 10:30, I guess no one requests this? I left because they were having problems with the computer and we were on our way to the airport. We picked this place this trip because the price was right being it was high season it was reasonable but we will not return and will go to another place just down the street where I do not encounter any of these issues, wished we had done so.

Melissa,

Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your return trip here as much as the first time. However, I'm confident these issues aren't typical for us.

Our goal is to provide as comfortable and relaxing stay as we can possilbly provide to our guests, so please don't ever feel like you're asking too much of us. If we can make a guest more comfortable within a reasonable means, we will definately do so. We're sorry breakfasts weren't more to your liking. As a return guest, you should be fully aware that we offer no "cook to order" items. Our buffet offerings have increased over the last 16 months by adding protein elements, low fat, gluten free and lactos intolerant items, complimented by our traditional "popular" items like: french toast, waffles, coffee cake, baked breads, fresh fruits, yogurts, smears, raspberry preserves and a host of other options- it's easy to find something yummy and satisfying.

I apologize for there being a problem with your towels, and for the computer mishap. Again, these issues are an exception, not the norm. I think your first visit can attest to that. Thanks again for writing a review, and we do hope you'll give us another shot. I'm confident we can impress you again.

Sincerely,
Amy Behm

The staff is very friendly and helped us with lots of suggestions of where to dine and what to visit. The place is clean. We stayed 3 nights, and it was hot, we don't like to sleep with the air conditioner running so we opened the windows. Since this hotel is across the street from the State Capitol garage it was noisy in the early morning, but if you sleep with the windows closed and the air conditioner going on the hot days, this might be fine. The free internet was very slow and didn't work well. The breakfast was fine. It was within a 10 minute walk from the Plaza, so a good location.

Thank you for your review! I'll make sure our staff sees this, too. Herb and I want everyone to be comfortable and welcome during their visit, thus we go out of our way to treat our guests like good friends. I apologize for the early morning noise. Though we are tucked away in a low-traffic area, a little bit of street noise is inevitable when you are in the downtown of any city. I hope you were still able to get great nights of sleep.

You also mention your stay wasn't what you expected. Our website does provide several pictures and descriptions of the grounds as well as each individual room/suite. We appreciate any suggestions on how we can improve your stay, so additional feedback on what you thought your experience would be is welcome.

Thanks again for giving us a try, and we hope to see you again if you ever return to Santa Fe!

Sincerely,
Amy Behm
