First, the positive: the service was outstanding. Our waitresses (a team effort) were kind, attentive, and on-the-ball. Everything else slid downhill after that. The coffee was nasty. The food was nothing special. Hash browns were grease-laden, then again, what wasn't? The biscuits were not bad, but I've had a lot better. The french toast was not actual french toast; it was their own special variation. Basically it was their biscuits flattened down, fried like french toast, then doused in powdered sugar. The "french biscuits" weren't cooked through but that didn't matter, the second round of cooked "french biscuits" turned stomachs just as easily. The servers comped us the french biscuits and even gave us a complimentary cinnamon roll to go (even the cinnamon roll was sub-par). We tipped the full price of the meal and thanked the waitresses profusely for their effort(s). These ladies really were sweet! If it wasn't for the service, this would have received a "terrible" rating. I'm not certain what others who gave 4-5 stars were tasting.

Was told by a friend that this was a great breakfast restaurant. It was all it was billed to be. The biscuits were wonderful and the pancakes were some of the best I have ever had.
From the outside appearance many would not give it a second look, but the food and service were outstanding I will be back and highly recommend.

This is our second visit. The CFS is excellent. Crispy crust and flavorful gravy. The yeast rolls are awesome. My son tried theater Texas style French toast which is made with a biscuit. My syrup loving son ate it dry. He thought it was great.

Will return when visiting. Great value. Breakfast served all day.

Mr. Tim's is good comfort food in a simple atmosphere, Nothing fancy about the menu or decor. Just the basics - with daily specials like smothered steak, chicken and dumplings, fried chicken, turkey and dressing, brisket and suasage, with sides like mashed potatoes and veggie, meatloaf, burgers and fries, etc. I have lunch there occasionally, but you need to be hungry because the portions are dinner sized. You won't leave hungry. They also have a hearty breakfast menu, but I've never had the chance for that. Located in SouthTown it is popular with the locals and business diners from nearby downtown, as well as tourists who are lucky enough to find this no-frills place for a solid meal away from the more pricey Riverwalk establishments.

Mr. Tim's was our choice for breakfast and it was fantastic! We tried one of their home made cinnamon rolls that they are famous for and it was delicious and huge! A must when dining here! Breakfast food was very good tasting and portion wise. Good price for a great place!
