We are on the end of a 8 week holiday between Florida & Nevada, staying in many hotels. Marriotts and other chain hotels. This hotel ranks at the top of our stays.
The hotel is beautiful. The moment you walk into the lobby you are overwhelmed with how spacious it is. The decor and lighting is beautiful. Rivals any high end hotel we have stayed at and at an affordable price. Our nightly cost was $89.00.
On arrival you are greeting with wonderful front desk staff that are there to help you and answer any questions with a smile. They also go out of their way to give helpful advice on any questions you may have re tourists stops and informational maps. My heartfelt thanks to Lorena, Jill, David and my apologies to rest of front desk whose names I have forgotten.
As other reviewers have mentioned included in your hotel rate is Breakfast and Evening Kickback. Breakfast is better than any other Hotel offering and no other Hotel offers the evening Kick-back that included 3 free drinks along with a meal. Granted the evening meal is not the healthiest choice at least you are given an option to eat in. Thank you to the staff that handled the morning and evening meals. We were always greeted with a hello, smile and asked if evering thing was ok or did we need anything replaced.
My thanks to Laura and the other nice gentleman (I am sorry to have forgotten your name) who manned the drink bar in the evening. Even when the line up was long you both handled it with a smile and patience.
One our first visit Feb 23/24th we were in a queen room on 8th floor overlooking the pool. Great view and never an issue with any traffic noise. Room was wonderful and immaculate.
Our second visit Mar 4-7th we were in a Queen suite on the 6th Floor. Rm 610. No view of pool but not a problem and again no outside noise. Suite was HUGE with separate bedroom with large flat screen tv, sliding door to sitting area. Also bar sink with micro and fridge. Large bathroom with shower.
On 5th floor is pool & hot tub. Lots of outdoor chairs and piped music to listen to. Very peaceful to just sit out and relax. Besides the outdoor pool area on 5th floor, there is also a large deck just outside the breakfast area off the main lobby with tables and chairs.
Drury Inn Plaza is near San Antonio Airport and aproximately 20 miles from downtown Riverwalk and the Alamo. There is no shuttle offered by hotel. The front desk will be able to advise on bus routes.
Within a 3 block radius there is a shopping center with Costco, Wal-mart, Mexican restaurant, Macaroni Grill and a great place for lunch called Jason's Deli. Other than that a car is required to eating establishments.
Don't hesitate to try Drury Inn Plaza North, you will not be disappointed !!!! Go to Drury Inn site and click on E-Saver rate.
This is a pet friendly chain of hotels. I love animals but am very allergic to pet dander. I was told on first visit that only certain floors are available for pets and on second visit was told there was no rhyme nor reason to what floor or rooms pets were allowed in. With 9 floors in this hotel I would have thought only certain floors or rooms would be assigned as pet friendly.
Thanks Drury Inn Plaza for a wonderful stay & exceptional staff.
