We loved the inn and the wonderful owner, Pat, the first time we stayed here. Our second visit only proved how right we were. Clean, comfortable, charming, quiet, conveniently located, off-street parking, great breakfast basket delivered to your door. Pat, the owner, is helpful, accommodating, warm, friendly and delightful. The rooms are beautiful and homey, unlike the indifferent, impersonal cookie-cutter rooms of most hotel and motel chains. We'll be back again.

Room Tip: Couldn't see a bad room.

It has an old world charm about it and every convenience, including a hair dryer. Breakfast is brought to the room in an adorable wicker basket covered with a red checkered cloth and more food than we could eat, yogurt , fruit, croissants and muffins and sometimes delicious mini quiches. The proprietor made herself available for directions and recommendations and we felt very much at home.

Warm, charming inn. The owner, Pat, is wonderful, welcoming and accommodating, and her morning basket of muffins, croissants, eggs, juice and fresh fruit delivered to your door is scrumptious. We were very comfortable and loved that we could walk everywhere - town is a nice walk in one direction, Pioneer Village and Forest River Park close in the other, and it is only a few blocks from the water.

Room Tip: Front rooms get morning sun-nice! Busy road gets very quiet at night so no noise problem, and no bad rooms as far as we could see.

Cute and romantic! The owner had good recommendations for restaurants. I'll stay again!

Not the closest location, but well worth it.

The rooms are quaint and the entire inn is charming.

The basket breakfast is a real nice touch!

Most of the other reviews cover the main points of this property. It is an old property with character and one has to live with some idiosyncrasies but is it charming. It is on a busy road but it is quiet at night. We enjoyed our stay here and Pat was very helpful. If you have no car it is about a 15-20 minutes walk into the centre eg. to the Peabody museum.
I would say Salem itself is worth no more than 2-3 days visit in the low season. There is a nice beach about 10 minutes drive away.
If you need to get to Logan it is OK for that also - $26 with Uber.
