Description: There are two lovely examples of foods from Mexico created by immigrants and multi-cultural influences; the Caesar Salad, created by Caesar Cardini, an Italian immigrant who opened a restaurant in Tijuana, Baja California and the traditional side dish of Spanish rice, which was brought to Mexico by the Spaniards after they traveled on to Asia and returned with rice and popular spices such as cilantro. Both of these examples are enjoyed world-wide. At El Cisne Restaurant you will find exceptional variations of fine Mexican food with influences from abroad as well as favorite traditional Mexican dishes. We specialize in wonderfully prepared seafood and steaks. El Cisne also carries a wide variety of beers, wines and liquors including exceptionally prepared specialty drinks. Beer and wine were also brought by immigrants to Mexico. Many of these are now favorites in the United States and several other countries. This multi-cultural Mexican heritage is the heart and soul of El Cisne Restaurant. Each dish and drink is prepared and served by our highly experienced staff in a modern contemporary setting that is both elegant and relaxed. We hope you enjoy your experience and thank you for visiting us!

This was our second visit in about 1.5 years, so things have changed. The Owner was present on our first visit, but not on the second. The young man doing the seating did not seem to be trained in what to do. He was slow with chips and water. Our waitress was good, but had to tell the young man everything he was to do.
The food was OK, but not as well put together as we had remembered. The Kitchen did not seem inspired. It was early, 6:00pm, and only a few tables with customers, so the kitchen should not have been too busy.
There was some sort of crushing or grinding noise coming out of a closed door room near the men's restroom. Kind of annoying.

Food had a very good taste and you could eat it even with a heavy load of salsa without crying do to the heat of it. The refried beans were a bit salty, but had a very good taste as well. I am tired of having the charge for iced tea and coffee go through the roof, so I post the cost for all places I review, or try too. Here $3.00 each.

Last Friday evening we decided to go out to dinner and as in years past we have the Arizona Star’s Dining Club Card, which gives us one entree free with certain restrictions.. El Cisne was on the card so we decided to go there. The food was good, the people, especially the owner, were pleasant, so why did we leave feeling slightly scammed? El Cisne’s statement of conditions says, “Valid only with purchase of appetizer, two beverages or dessert. Valid only on entrees up to $15.00.” Okay, we can live with that. So off we went to El Cisne. When we ordered my husband asked for wine and I requested iced tea, the waiter said, “The card requires purchase of two alcoholic beverages”, okay, husband will have a second glass of wine. Then the waiter asks if we want an appetizer or dessert, we really don’t want either. Waiter says card requires purchase of one or the other to get discount. I do not understand why they could not have said that they required purchase of two alcoholic beverages plus dessert or appetizer, there clearly is room for that as other establishments have substantially longer listing explaining restrictions. The whole thing just left us with a bad, unhappy feeling, we probably will not go back.
