We booked a package to the Stanley through Dreamtrips, our travel club. The package included 3 nights at the Stanley, a Ghost Tour and a Hotel Tour. The check in staff were very nice and we got our room on the 3rd floor. We got in around 10pm and the restaurant was still open so we popped in for a drink at Cascades. I was pretty excited about the 900+ whisky's they had and went for an Old Fashioned...very good.
The room was nice and cozy and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice but my wife needed way more surface space for her stuff. The sink was small and there was maybe only room to put a toothbrush. We had one of the rare rooms with the octagon windows in the bathroom, which opened all the way and let in brisk fresh air. I loved that.
We walked into town everyday and enjoyed breakfast at Clair's. Famous for bloody mary's and mimosas. The food was delicious too. We took part in both hotel tours and had a great time. I actually enjoyed the historical tour best because our guide was so good at telling stories. The ghost tour gave us similar information about the history of the hotel but just in the dark.
We are thinking of staying there again this year but we are considering the new units that are about to open in May.More
