“Totally upgraded”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2012

We started with two nights and quickly extended our stay. This lodge is under new management and they are in the process of upgrading everything. The beds are very comfortable and the staff did everything to make our stay a good one. They are outside the city in the RMNP but close enough that 15 mins gets you downtown. The views are amazing. We were close to horseback riding, Lily lake, and the park. Good hiking trail in the property and an upscale restaurant on premise. We went to fort Collins for whitewater rafting. It was a great value and a continental breakfast was included. Would definitely recommend especially if you want to be close to the city but far enough to enjoy nature.

Room Tip: Cabins are nice for families but we enjoyed the views from the lodge, so we preferred the lodge.

Aspen Lodge is the place to go if you are looking to enjoy beautiful mountains, peace and quiet, and great service. My experience was unforgettable, I will be back soon and will bring my wife and family. The service was excellent, the rooms were clean and elegant. The beds were comfortable and the views breathtaking. Close to cicvilization but you feel like you are away from everything. The water was clean, the shower heads were great, the food was awesome and the chefs were able to meet all of my dietary needs. There was a small lake to row a boat on, the hiking was perfect for anybody as there were easy hikes and then full day hikes to the top of the world. They even have a basketball hoop and tennis court. Can't think of anything that was missing. If you have a choice stay here, unbeatable and I have stayed at many a Orel and resort. Stayed here for a week long conference wish I could have been there longer but will be back.

Room Tip: I stayed in the main hotel and was very happy couldn't even hear my neighbors, saw the view from...

I came up for a week, and could have easily stayed longer. The traditional log cabin room meshed well with the modern day TV and internet access. The bed was comfortable, and I didn't even have to use the pillow that I brought from home! Even though the room was great, I was drawn to the outdoor activities and nature surrounding the lodge. The views were amazing not only from the balcony of my room, but the entire property. There were some great hiking trails behind the lodge that wrapped up to the top of the mountain behind, which made for a nice day hike. There's a beautiful lake in front of the property with a little sandy beach to sun bathe on and row boats. The food was wonderful and accommodating to your dietary preferences (gluten free, vegan, etc). The staff was friendly and made you feel right at home. Overall it was an excellent experience, and I can't wait to return to see the continued upgrades the new ownership makes.

I had read some of the older reviews on here that were not so good, but my stay was amazing. I was here for a long weekend conference. First, the drive up there sets the stage, it is gorgeous. When you finally arrive, the view is spectacular. Our first day there we took a stroll up behind the lodge and relaxed in the cool, comfortable weather and were welcomed by a few elk! The lodge itself is gorgeous, with large comfy beds, fluffy towels (you know, soft and full size!) with a view of the Longs Peak right out the window. We had a door that opened up to the outside. I would get a room with a balcony facing the peak. They told me they just spent a pretty penny putting in a large filter for all the water, so even the sink water is good! Several steps beyond most of the hotels I have stayed in. The staff was friendly, informative and went above and beyond helpful. The food was excellent and I really did not want to leave. They cater to vegetarians, meat eaters alike, and those with diet restrictions. Our cellphones were definitely a little spotty, but that is what made it so nice. There were workers there upgrading the cabins and spa, and new furniture being delivered when we were leaving. I would highly recommend this place for anybody looking to get a comfortable, fresh taste of what the mountains of Colorado have to offer. I really can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: A room facing Longs Peak with a balcony is definitely worth it.

The new owners have brought the Aspen Lodge back to life. Surrounded by a mountain view that will absolutely take your breath this lodge was a great find. The rooms were clean, spacious, and cozy. And the beds were great too. Lots of trails around for hiking... A beautiful lake on the property... And the food was fantastic. There is a restaurant on the property so you never have to go find food in the nearest town. Very satisfied with the new Aspen Lodge.
