We tent camped for 4 nights. Our site was among the redwood trees so it was cool, shady, and beautiful. There are some sites-many RV but at least one tent camping that is in the sun and not among the trees. We did not see mosquitos! The restrooms were cleaned between 12:30 and 2:30 each day-and needed it - mainly because they were in constant use. There were 3 stall and 3 showers. There was power outlets in the restrooms. I found there to be a line for the showers in the mornings (8am-ish) and the evening (6pm). When busy the hot water is a bit scarce. I showered at 6am and was not the only one. The pancake breakfast was a good way to start your day. They also provide coffee and water. You can buy firewood and other things at the store. The KOA is not far from Crescent City and even closer to Jedidah Smith Redwoods State Park.

Many of the tent sites here are lovely -- tucked away in the redwoods -- but not all of them are. Alas, we ended up tent camping in one of the latter areas -- basically paid $38 per night to set up a tent at the edge of a field with lots of other tent campers very close nearby. Would have happily paid the $38 for one of the more secluded sites back in the trees but they were booked and the tent area along Alder Lane where we were almost feels like an "overflow" zone where they are just trying to cram in more people to make more $. You can stay in much nicer public sites for less at Jedediah Smith State Park and Harris Beach State Park up in Brookings. Didn't help that the front office staff we encountered (even the lady doing the pancake breakfast out back) were not only not welcoming but distracted, at best, and even grumpy at worst.

Room Tip: if you're tent camping get a site back in the redwoods ... or stay somewhere else

Camped here on our way down the coast the night before visiting the Redwood National Park. Great location, you can get an early start in the morning and from the site you're straight on the 101 towards the park before it gets busy. Not too far from Crescent City either if you don't plan to cook for yourself there are plenty of options there.

The site itself is good, plenty of space on the tent sites. If you do get an early start in the morning like we did (before 9am) there might not be any staff to allow you to check out which could be a problem if you still need to pay for anything. Facilities were all clean and it seemed fairly quiet while we were there at the end of September.

Super nice and clean campground. They have showers, bathrooms, RV, and tent spots. We stayed here and camped on our drive home from California to Washington. We arrived very late but they were very accommodating by putting a map of the campground and our campsite outside on the door so we could still find out where to go

Excellent KOA located in the redwoods. Staff was friendly. Our group required two sites and they provided us with sites side-by-side, which we really appreciated.

Our sites were in the forest area where it was quiet and peaceful. We were surrounded by redwoods and we loved it! Our small trailers allowed us to fit in the electrical and water hookup sites which was a bonus. Dump site available to empty black and gray tanks at the end of our stay.

Campsites and surrounding area was clean and well-maintained. Bathrooms included showers that were hot and had lots of water pressure!! Laundry located on site, just across from the bathrooms, makes it nice for washing clothes while on the road.

This KOA is conveniently located by lots of towns and attractions. Easy stop right on Hwy 101. We stayed for 3 nights and used it as our "base camp" so we could drive to Crescent City, Eureka, Samoa, and Avenue of the Giants.
