We stayed in the Bernard Shandon Rodey room and like Nandineka, who stayed in the Edward Buxton Christy room, we think the Rodey room mattress might need replacing - it was a little soft for us - but we like a really firm mattress - maybe other guests would prefer this one to one that is firmer. Be that as it may, our stay was very pleasant. Steve and Kathy are gracious innkeepers who know their town and surrounding areas very well.

The two breakfasts I had were delicious: pumpkin pancakes one morning and a green chili quiche the second morning. My husband and I both enjoyed the cookies that were available for guests to munch on in the evening. We appreciated that a breakfast-on-the-go was prepared for my husband who had to leave early - a bag with his name on it was in the Guest Refrigerator waiting for him to pick up.

I took advantage of the free wi-fi and had no trouble connecting.

I luxuriated in sitting in the East Courtyard with my book and my knitting. Very, very pleasant.

Room tip: The Bernard Shandy Rodey room has a queen bed and is on the second floor, so be prepared to carry your belongings up the stairs. There are windows on two sides of the building for a nice cross breeze; also, a very pretty ceiling fan. It's not a large room (shower, no tub - which was fine with us because we always take showers, not baths), and only one luggage rack so our second suitcase was on the floor. Wardrobe for hanging clothes up. Two straight chairs - one at a little desk where we put our notebook computer.

We recently stayed at Bottger Mansion in Old Town Albuquerque for a few days. We choose B&B's because they are more personal, the owner is more invested, you usually get a really good breakfast and by chatting with the owners you get some great tips for your vacation that you may not have wandered upon on your own. That was the case with Bottger Mansion. This was a beautiful old house and our room was absolutely lovely - and spotless. They even clean under the beds!

The only constructive feedback I could give is that I would have like to have an Iron and ironing board in the room (even a small table top one), and the bed was not great. One mattress was really in need of replacement as were the flat pillows.

Other than that, we loved the place and would stay there again. It was great to be able to walk into Old Town for dinner and entertainment.

Room tip: We stayed in the Edward Buxton Christy room and it was beautiful.

My partner and I had an amazing stay at Bottger. We were in the Edward Buxton Cristy room, a beautifully furnished and maintained room. The light came in through the windows and lit the whole place up. It had a wonderfully warm feeling to it.

After traveling all day, we arrived to Bottger hot and tired. A nice shower perked us right up. Then we had tea and coffee outside in their garden, and enjoyed one of many cookies that were available for guests to snack on. The tea and coffee were easily accessible as well, and quite enjoyable. We say out there and perused one of the many books they had about NM and Alb.

Steve, one of the hosts, also spent time talking to us about different places to eat, and what he preferred and why. After we finished our late afternoon snack, we walked out the front door and were in Old Town, exploring the shops and enjoying the cooler weather.

We ate at Church Street Cafe, which was excellent. It was about a block away. We had a wonderful time out on the patio.

The next morning, we were treated to a lovely breakfast of scrambled eggs, fruit, a biscuit, tomatos, and juice (I think there was something more, but I am blanking right now). It was delicious! We spent time talking to Steve about Old Town, and about his vision for the furture. When I come back to Alb, I will definitely stay here again. Thank you Steve and Kathy!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It's easy to get to from the airport. Very convenient location a block from Old Town. Quick drive to downtown ABQ and the train station. Free parking at the lot across the street. I only got to eat one breakfast; blue cornmeal pancakes. They were delicious. My traveling partner had the green chile omelet one day and raved about it. Lovely garden area with bird/hummingbird feeders; nice area to sit and read or just enjoy bird watching. Stayed in the Erna room. Although it was small it was clean and comfortable. I did not feel cramped in the rooms. Living room has a computer so you can check email, print boarding passes, research restaurants etc. I arrived at a time that before normal hours check in hours; a was left a key and information on the BB so I could check in early. Host/hostess were friendly and knowledgable. I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend to anyone travelling to ABQ. The fish taco's at Seasons (walking distance) are wonderful

Warm staff and elegant accommodations made my family's stay here feel more personalized and comfortable than many other inns and B&Bs. With the delicious breakfast, helpful information, and catering to our stay in Albuquerque, we wish we could have stayed more than one night! We would highly recommend the Bottger Mansion, and cannot wait to return.
