Description: Scarpas opened its first location in 1994 and became an instant local favorite. With our two locations in the lovely North East Heights, Scarpas is the perfect place to meet friends and family, have a delicious meal and enjoy its relaxed, Italian old world charm. Scarpas is known for our gourmet pizza, a perfectly cooked thin crust thanks to our custom built brick ovens. Our crust is cooked at a high temperature to produce an ideal texture that is light and crispy. We have a wide selection of unique pizzas on our menu - all made with the freshest ingredients. We also feature delicious fresh salads and pasta dishes, and an extensive beer and wine list. Remember to check out the "Special Board" on your next visit to see the chef's daily offerings.Finish your meal with our famous and most sought after dessert, the Torta Di Mele. It is an unbelievable combination of puff pastry apple tart, ice cream and chocolate, caramel and whip cream.

A favorite with locals for brick-oven pizza, they have a decent selection of pizzas. The salad portions are enormous; one could easily split a half-order with another person.

Service is usually fast and courteous. Ambience is ok, but it's a little loud during dinner most evenings.

Recommended this to a friend who hadn't been here so we went. I enjoyed my food, although my pizza wasn't as hot as it should have been, My friend didn't enjoy her margarita pizza-said it was average.
What bothered us most was the lack of service. It was before 9 when we left and we were the only ones remaining(after 3 other tables had left.) The cook at the brick oven was the only worker we saw. Our waitress came to order our drinks, and then food. and other than not, not at all. We had to flag her down since she and other staff were chatting by the kitchen door. My decaf coffee was bad so I asked for regular coffee, which was barely lukewarm.
We expressed our disappointment in the food/coffee and the waitress said she wished it would be better next time.

I wish there were appetizers and more dessert options-(just one?)

Scarpas always has great service and food. A couple of healthy options which is great when I am counting carbs. Overall, very happy :)

We ate at Scarpas for the first time last night and were not disappointed. There are many different types of wood fired pizza and we tried the primavera. It was good but lacking the grilled onions. It was served with a thick slice of raw tomato on each piece which we removed as it detracted from the pizza itself. The crust is very thin and the pizza did not stay hot for long. Since the crust is so thin - although the pizza is large -it is not filling. I had the pasta Veneto which was tasty but could have used something to give it more zing. The lemon caper sauce was good but lacking in a strong lemon flavor. The portion was large but there weren't many artichokes or mushrooms. We also split a half salad which is large enough for two. The southwest dressing was excellent and the mixed greens were crisp and fresh. Our server was friendly but disappeared after we were served. There wasn't any air conditioning, or if there was, it wasn't effective. However, the ceiling fan kept us comfortable. The environment is casual and comfortable. It was crowded when we arrived at 6:40 but almost empty when we left at 8:15. There is a small wine list, local beer on tap and bottled. Prices are reasonable.
