I attended a group function at the Salt Lake City Marriott City Center and was treated very well from the first moment. The hotel is centrally located, about four blocks from the Mormon Temple and three blocks from the Salt Palace Convention Center. A real highlight was the breakfast buffet, where for $17 you get all you want of meats, omelettes, potatos, fresh fruit, joice, soda, coffee, oatmeal and more. Parking, though, was $17 per night (they seem to like that number here) for self-parking, quite high. The beds were pretty soft; my side of the king bed in our room sagged a bit, so it's probably time to get some new ones.
The pool and jacuzzi were great. So was the air conditioning in 90+ degree heat. But if there was one problem, it was that the air in the hotel was too dry, not an ounce of humidity, which caused me to have sore sinuses day and night, interfering with sleep. It's this that makes me downgrade the hotel from five dots to two.
The staff is friendly, but the hotel is showing a little wear, overall.More
